EIGHTH DAY / SEMI FINALS
Today it was the day, the semi finals were here and decided who'll go to the final and has still the chance to win Fantasia's most prestigious tennis tournament.
The first semi-final saw Joachim fighting against the favorite Vale. Joachim started really strong, the fans of course in favor of the home-man, but Vale played well against him and was able to withstand the attacks by Joachim. In the end the Pacifican won the first set in a tense tie break. Joachim was now in the need to win the set, and it turned out that the risk that he took was too much. Vale on the other hand played really efficiently, punishing the mistakes of the man from de Vremd, and managed to win set 2 and the match, being the first player to reach the final and destroying the hopes of a winner from home ground.
The question was who'll be Vale's rival in the final match. Bjärkinsson was in great form, but after beating a Vremd player the round before the public tended to rather support his opponent Falconeri. A blackout from the latter one in the middle of set 1 gave the Ruyjinese an advantage which he managed to hold and win set 1. But Falconeri didn't give up easily and fought back in an incredible second set, where he managed to equalize the score and bring on a decisive third set. But there it was early on clear that the Prunian lost his energy in the last two sets, while Bjärkinsson had the better stamina after two rather easy wins beforehand. He used his advantage to win the third set and match, standing now in the final, while Falconeri will now play against Joachim in the game for place 3.

The first semi final of the women's tournament saw the highly awaited match between Yakovlev and Jilova. Both won their respective quarter finals relatively easy and are now both named as top favorites. Yakovlev began with more pressure, while Jilova wasn't able to show her strong serve game, which was additionally disadvantaged by the sandy ground. Yakovlev used her better physical abilities to get an advantage, winning the first set in the process. The second set was a hard fight, firstly it looked like Yakovlev could win this again, but Jilova fought back, profiting from some rare mistakes done by Yakovlev. In the end Jilova equalized the match, leading it into a decisive third set. Also this one was a hard fight, but Yakovlev managed to defend an early break advantage over the whole set with a stellar performance, ending with her qualification for the final.
Semi final 2 saw the duel against Pasche and Johnson. The latter one took early on a lead, and played a dominant first set in which Pasche saw only few to no chances for her. The second set was more equal, Pasche needed to risk more in order to win the set, while it looked at phases as if Johnson only wants to defend. But in the end the Glaraian showed her nerves and lost the set and match in the last few games. Pasche still has the chance to get third place against Jilova, while Sirenforest can celebrate the final participation of their Tennis star.
