Namimori have done it. For the first time in their history they have reached the knockout phase of the World Cup. For long periods it appeared as though it would be Torlova's side toasting a place in the second round. It was, however, to be their opponents who wrote their own piece of history by reaching the knockout stage. They headed into a midweek meeting with Torlova knowing that a point would likely be enough to see them through. It was a quiet opening – with four yellow cards brandished but little goalmouth action. Perhaps the biggest chance of the half came to Torlova. A long ball forward was flicked on for their striker, who brilliantly spun beyond the Namimorish defender but stabbed his shot inches wide of the far post. In the second half, the team of Torlova had numerous chances, but they did not manage to score a goal. They pushed forward in a desperate attempt to get the goal that would have taken them into the last 16. Their best chance was saved by the Namimorish keeper and his team held on for a historic result. Torlova were the better side on the night, but Namimori showed heart and a will to win.
Mart Haak and Patrick Hughes helped with firing Evergreen into the last 16 of the 2018 World Cup at Lanovina's expense. It was a tight opening five minutes as both sides protected their lines. Alexander Stelzer was a whisker away from opening the scoring just after the half hour when he wheeled away from his man on the left flank. He took a quick look before letting fly with a thunderbolt. It dipped late, but the travelling contingent were disappointed to see it drop onto the roof of the net. The game was finely poised as the sides made their way down the tunnel for the half time team talk. Lanovina took the lead early in the second half when Vernog lofted a high ball into the area. Avery made it his own with a measured flick and Marlon McKera bagged the first goal of his team during this World Cup. Evergreen scored an equaliser after the referee had pointed to the spot, and Patrick Hughes kept his cool to slide the spot kick past Halt. The Everish comeback was completed on 84 minutes when Barnett latched on to another ball over the top. He somehow got the ball back into the mix and Haak had the simple task of picking his spot from very close range. The victory was more than Evergreen needed after Torlova had not won against Namimori, with a draw enough for progress, and no more than they deserved as they booked a second round clash. For the second consecutive year Lanovina finishes bottom in their group with 0 points.
Llort have finished second in World Cup Group F after a 4-0 defeat to Scandavia in Lytte. They will play Namimori in the last 16 on Sunday in Hulluksio. Scandavia scored the opening goal after 18 minutes. With them in control, Llort managed to hold out for the rest of the first half and, sitting deep, created a couple of half chances on the break while they were at it. And at half time they were very much still in the game. But the difference in quality began to show in the second half, and Scandavia had their second through Nikolas Grúbing in the 51st minute. Things were quiet until the 73rd minute, until Hagersted headed home to score another goal for his country. That was game over, but ten minutes later, substitute Mágers managed a 25-yard dribble to set himself up for a shot inside the box, which he slotted past the keeper with ease into the right corner. No surprises with the result then, but Llort had a few chances and showed intent going forward on occasions. And they can go into the game against Namimori confident on Sunday, where a win will be a much more achievable task. Scandavia will now face Evergreen in Brodrik.
  A second-half strike from the Sylvanian striker ensured his team ended their World Cup Group F campaign with a victory, as Alkyria finished bottom. Both sides entered the game without a win in the tournament. In what was a lively first half, the Alkyrian side netted inside six minutes as centre-half Kenes Orazov headed home following poor marking at a free kick. They were pegged back shortly afterwards though, the Sylvanian striker headed home from inside the six yard box to bring the scores level. The game looked to be petering out into a draw as the Alkyrians held on but, to the delight of the Sylvanian fans, their team's goal in the dying moments secured the first win in three games. The two teams will now head home from Tergå. Alkyria finished last with one point, but their legion of travelling fans will undoubtedly be satisfied they managed to see their team in football's biggest tournament. As for Sylvan, it will be small consolation to their fans that they signed off their last match at the World Cup with a victory. Viewed as dark horses before a ball had been kicked, the Sylvanian players were a huge disappointment in Levalle and will return to their homeland wondering what might have been.

Four goals in less than half an hour earned Drevona an unimaginable draw against Pohunskia in a dramatic World Cup match in Andrex. It was the Drevonan team who fell behind in the first minute of play. A cross from the left was pushed out to the edge of the box. The ball was sent back with a curling shot that landed just inside the left hand post. Pohunskia continued their lively start, and found the side netting from a short corner on the 10th minute. They kept up the pressure and had the ball in the back of Drevona’s net again on the 12th minute. Drevona were struggling to get into the game. On 19 minutes it was 4-0 for Pohunskia. Seemingly in no danger, a short back pass towards the Drevonan keeper was capitalized on by Blaha and ended up in the back of the net. The rest of the half petered out, with Pohunskian content to sit on their lead and control the game, and Drevona struggling to make any impression in their opponents' half. On 50 minutes, Drevona were back in the game. Their winger ran all the way into the box, before shooting from just inside the right hand corner of the box. The ball arrowed low into the bottom left hand corner of the goal. On 62 minutes, a stunning free kick curled straight into the net to make it 4-2. Drevona was back to within a goal with 21 minutes left to play. The stage was then set for them to grab an equaliser in the 75th minute to earn a precious draw and silence the Stades des Deray at the end of one of the most dramatic evenings in the stadium's history. It was a fantastic entertainment served up by the two teams who had qualified to the knockout stage.
Prunia was crashed out of the 2018 World Cup group stage as they finished bottom of Group G after a defeat to Ninelie. They sat deep in the first half and rarely got anything going in midfield or attack. Ninelie threatened at times in the first 45 minutes, but there was only one effort on target - with Travers clearing it off the line and straight into the grateful hands of Maciness. The game grew more chippy in the second half and the referee ended up giving out seven yellows in 45 minutes. It was high on fouls and cards but low on chances and quality too. Prunia were lacking a spark and Ninelie were not a whole lot better as they failed to inspire during their stints on the field. It came in the 83rd minute when Agriolo sent the corner he won into the front post. Mergova headed home at the front post and Prunia had no time to respond. Ninelie were always fighting a losing battle in terms of qualification, but this is still a victory for them to savour. 2015 World Champions have gone out in the first round for the first time ever. They followed in Eldance's footsteps to exit at the group stage. Pohunskia and Drevona have progressed from Group G.
Niolskiaj finished second in Group H after thrashing Glaray, who were eliminated. Niolskiaj were the brighter of the two sides in the opening quarter and in the 14th minute they took the lead. Some fantastic pressing from them saw the ball fall to Niol striker, who fired his team ahead. It took until the 24th minute for Glaray to have their first real effort at goal. We did not have to wait too long for their opponents' response, as Niolskiaj netted their second goal and doubled the lead. Five minutes before the break, they won a free-kick. The ball was whipped into the crowded box, but the flag was up for offside. Niolskiaj came out of the traps like wild animals in the second-half and their hard-work soon paid off as they got their rewards, with two goals in the space of three minutes. The full-time whistle marked Niolskiaj's second consecutive win in the tournament. They next make the journey to the Vertemaant Stadium, to take on Group G winners - Pohunskia. Glaray's miserable campaign at the 2018 World Cup finally came to an end after finishing bottom in their group with 1 point.
  Aquia eliminated Sincuerello and secured their place in the second round of the World Cup after beating their opponents 2-1 in Hulluksio. Aquian fans were made to sweat it out until the dying stages of stoppage time as Sincuerello pushed them hard. With eleven minutes on the clock, Aquia opened the scoring. José Tiago Sabino Pereira pulled the trigger and found the far corner of Sincuerellese keeper’s goal from around 25-yards. The half-time break didn’t stop the action as both sides came out, continuing to have a good go at one another. Sincuerello managed to convert their second-half pressure with just 15 minutes remaining as their substitute found the back of the net from 12-yards. Frustration was setting in, but Aquia had the last word - in emphatic fashion. José Augusto Cougil restored their lead as he curled a delightful ball into the net. The victory means Aquian side will play Drevona in Frigg on Sunday. Sincuerello will fly home after picking up only three points in Group H with Niokskiaj joining Aquia in the last 16 following their 4-0 win with Glaray.

With this official statement released this afternoon, the Prunian coach has been relieved of his duties after a dreadful journey in the World Cup 2018 held in  Levalle, with the very first elimination of Prunia in the history of the World Cup, yesterday night, after two defeats against Drevona and Ninelie and a draw against Pohunskia, leaving the country last in the Group G.
Nicolas Bailey was the manager of the national team since October 2015 and the architect of the Prunian victory in the very first World Cup. He had strong managerial statistics (34 wins, 10 draws, 8 defeats ~ 53 matchs → 64% win) that led Prunia to the first place of the FANA World Ranking of Nations ever since its beginning.
According to rumours, Noah Sierras is reportedly set to become the new manager of the national Prunian team, after being out of work since leaving Prunian club Olympique Lemarol in June 2017. |

Lidonia reached the World Cup quarter-finals for the second time in their history in a 5-3 penalty shoot-out victory over Jarea. Playing in their white strips, Lidonians looked to start on the front foot, though Jarea's Heejurin Juan had the game's first chance, seeing his powerful drive deflect over the bar. His team was getting closer, and a flowing one-touch move around the box resulted in Harry Dorianfiring narrowly past the post. Then Nori Maria had collected a comfortable save in the closing stages of a goalless first half, before Daniel Šnitzler hit a clean effort straight at five minutes into the second period. The game looked to have slipped into a lull before Lašek had scored the second goal for his team. Jareans then changed approach, bringing on prolific scorer Haseual FIan, who managed to score six minutes later. They levelled matters on 85 minutes when a low free-kick from the right wing somehow bounced through a crowd of players to enable Crino Gaston to see it over the line, despite the best efforts of Alexander Vital. The game then went to penalties and Miralem Polanovič, a late substitute, stroked the winning kick for Lidonia.
Hosts Levalle advanced to the World Cup quarterfinals on penalties after a 1-1 draw in a dramatic evening in Frigg. Kjetil Sogge was Levalle's hero after saving two penalties in a shoot-out to dump Dýria out of the World Cup. Levalle had pressed their opponents in the opening stages, Runne Torbar getting away down the right to win an early corner that came to nothing. As expected at Nationalstadionet, Levalle enjoyed plenty of the ball, but it was Dýria who took the initiative. After they gained possession in midfield, Johnson fed Bairre Tennfjord on the right, then continued his run and was well-placed to tuck away the striker’s low cross for 0-1. After the break Levalle continued to show facets of their game, remaining solid and organised at one end, while posing a threat at the other end. They finally scored from the resulting corner Fojren’s cross evaded everyone and drew the hosts level late in the day. Baldursson's penalty was saved by Sogge and Sandvik stepped up to smash home and give the hosts the advantage. Then, the Levallese keeper saved Kristjansson's effort with his foot to send them through to the next round.
Demacia progressed to the quarter-finals of the World Cup as they continued their march to the title thanks to a 5-1 win over Corzazjan in Lytte. Demacia were ahead after just two minutes, and they established dominance for most of the half with good possession work and a few dangerous chances. One minute ago both teams were levelled as the Corzazi striker fired home the equalizer. At halftime, a good performance from Demacia was punished by the one mistake they made all half, and they needed to find a winner in the second half. After just two minutes Stamatios Pavoli made a brilliant pass across the box that gave Filippos Stephanidis a tap-in to put his team ahead. He scored again just five minutes later to make it 3-1. Corzazjan tried to go forward looking for a goal to get back in the match, but Demacia’s defense did a very good job of holding on to their lead. They also got to increase it thanks to a bad pass from the Corzazi keeper that went straight to Spirou, and he simply made it 4-1 and killed the game. The damage was done in the 88th minute, when Stephanidis completed his hat-trick. Demacia will face Lidonia in the quarter-final.
  Lenker's deflected strike booked Fordia a place in the World Cup quarter-finals after a 1-0 win over Flírskmasto on Saturday evening. Fordia might have led inside ten minutes, only for Husen to blaze over the bar after Xyon's shot was blocked, and Meklen was guilty of another glaring miss minutes later, volleying over with the goal gaping. Xyon also forced the Flírskmastoan goalkeeper into a fine one-handed save, as Fordia edged the first half. Flírskmasto were also guilty of wayward finishing and Georgi Shorev shot high and wide from a good position. Flírskmastoan chances were few and far between after the break, however, and Lenker's goal left them chasing the game. As they pushed for a stoppage-time leveller, Fordian sub raced forward with only the goalkeeper to beat, only to be nudged in the back by Viktor Kriva. The referee originally pointed to the spot but overruled the decision after consulting the VAR, and Buonarroti's save from Asøn's resulting free-kick was the final act of the match. The result means Fordia have once agaiin reached the quarter-finals and are just two victories away from their second World Cup final. They will now play against the hosts, Levalle on Tuesday in Lytte.
