 Himbrimi will represent Iceland!
Today, the Icelandic broadcaster RÚV has announced their act and entry that will represent Iceland in the pre-qualification round and hopefully in  Ukraine. After many submissions to the Icelandic broadcaster, both the HoD and Co-HoD of Iceland decided that Himbrimi would be the lucky act for the 27th edition.
Himbrimi consists of Margrét Rúnarsdóttir, Birkir Rafn Gíslasson, Skúli Arason and Egill Rafnsson. The group was formed and based in Reykjavik, and they started to make music in 2014. Himbrimi is Icelandic for the great diving bird the common loon and like the bird the band isn’t afraid to dive deep for rich rewards, as they combine elements of powerful dramatic pop, electronic soundscapes topped off with powerful explosions of rock.
Despite the group having to participate in the PQR first, Margrét Rúnarsdóttir, the lead vocalist, announced that:
We are absolutely thrilled to represent our country in such an amazing song contest where there exists a wide variety of genres. We never expected to be chosen by RÚV to begin with, so we will take this opportunity to deliver an amazing performance, even if we don't make it to the semi-finals, it's still an honour to compete, given that many others missed out on the chance.

 Uncertain future for RAI Head of Delegation, confirmation confirmed in Odessa After NAVA's Ritual brought Italy its first non-qualification in over ten editions and three years, Italian broadcaster RAI still intends to carry on its participation in the contest, however, the capacity of which remains uncertain at present. Media spokesperson Carla had this to say to a Northvision fan-site.
 Despite having our first non-qualification, we are most certainly not giving up! We will be present in Odessa, where we hope to aim higher and start off a successful chain of results again. Our formula for the twenty-sixth edition, whilst not working, is something that we hope to maintain going ahead in future editions. However, that is not a certainty at this stage. Due to the failure, our current Head of Delegation's position in the delegation and broadcaster is unsure at present, however, regardless of any individual Head of Delegation, Italy will always have a presence in the North Vision Song Contest.
[...] To expand on the twenty-seventh edition, our broadcaster has not made a decision as to the selection process for Italy's entry, however, applications are open, and we already have received several budding prospects for the big stage. Song applications in languages other than Italian or English have increased considerably this edition.
We look forward to many future success stories together, where Italian artists have a platform to present and showcase their music and talent to both a European and global market.

IT'S КУКЛА FOR SLOVENIA
КУКЛА (eng; Kukla, also known by her real name; Kukla Kesherović) is a Slovenian singer and director hailing from the capital of Ljubljana.
She is mostly known by her style of genre, Kukla herself describing it as "Slavic gangsta geisha pop",
combining the elements of pop, together with a touch of electronic beats and some influence of folk music.
Besides her musical career, she also directs music videos for several Slovenian artists, including herself and her NVSC #27 entry.

AVROTROS TO BE PRESENT IN UKRAINE!
After a successful 26th edition, both hosting and results, the broadcaster AVROTROS can indeed confirm the presence of The Netherlands in Odessa, Ukraine¬
Besides the hosting confirmation, the broadcaster suprised the public by announcing the Noordvisie Song Festival will serve once again as national selection method, highlighting the fact it is one of the most succesful selection methods in Europe.
! 16 acts will battle to get that ticket to Odessa, in two semi finals and ending in one grand final. Serving the Netherlands' finest in terms of music, lyrics & performances.

NTK 1 CONFIRMS KAZAKH PARTICIPATION
AT THE 27TH NORTH VISION SONG CONTEST
2018-12-12, ALMATY - The Kazakh broadcaster NTK confirmed the Kazakh participation for the next North Vision Song Contest. The broadcaster confirmed that the entry will once again be selected by an internal selection. Twenty countries were invited to evaluate six songs. The winner of this selection will be revealed in due time.

ROMANIA CONFIRMS TVR has finally confirmed the Romanian participation for NVSC #27 held in Odessa, Ukraine. In addition to the confirmation, details about the upcoming participation of the country have been revealed. After the new Head of Delegation took over, it was announced that many changes would have to be made due to the series of bad results for the country and the whole team is now ready to take a new approach. For starters, a National Selection will be hosted to determine Romania's entry and a few rumoured names include the pop singer Minelli and the indie-electronic duo YellLowSpecifically, the new HoD stated: "We are ready to try something new for Romania. It's a country with a really big music industry and we want to show the best of it to the whole world. We will try to bring as much variety as we can to our selection. It's a new project for the delegation so we are really excited to see how it turns out.
