 Iceland to select internally!
After the grand final results were revealed and subsequently the voting grids of the semi-finals, RÚV has announced that they would be selecting their upcoming act internally, without a doubt.
Iceland failed to escape the pre-qualification round by placing 17th; this will be the country's 2nd appearance in the event, should it go ahead as planned. When asked about how the country would select their act,  Dýri Brjánsson alongside his co-HoD ( agni ) announced that:
It is clear to us that after the results of this edition, our national selection needs to be revamped, and I don't support using it for the upcoming edition due to participating in the pre-qualification round, and overall the idea of using a national selection to select our act wasn't supported within the delegation. We will use the 27th edition to reevaluate our current national selection, and I am hopeful that it will return in #28, under a new format.
When the HoD was questioned about Iceland's participation in the 27th edition, he announced:
Although me and my co-HoD have received calls to withdraw from the contest, I'm afraid we can't do that. There's no point in withdrawing since the level of interest is quite high and although this isn't an ideal situation, I don't see any reason for Iceland to drop out at this stage. It's not worth it.
With this announcement, RÚV have announced that they are now continuing to accept songs until the middle of next week. After the submissions close, the delegation will narrow the list down to one lucky participant who will get the chance to represent Iceland in  Ukraine.

Morocco confirms for the 27th edition

Following Imane El Halouat's unprecedented success in the now-concluded edition in Rotterdam, the rejuvenated Moroccan spirit remains high, and so 2M announce Morocco's participation in the upcoming edition of the North Vision Song Contest.
Imane's song "I Will Be Waiting," an alternative lo-fi ballad, came 8th in the 26th edition - and by doing so, she defied the betting odds which had predicted her to fail in the semifinals by a clear margin.
The head of 2M's delegation stated in response to Imane's fantastic result:
"We have proven that, even with a delegation switchup and a complete switch in musical approach to the contest, Morocco has found its footing and that we are no longer underdogs. Our success from the 20th edition was not just a stint, but brought around by wise and thoughtful decisions made by the previous and current delegations. We have become a country whose name is popping up in the fanbase a lot more often now. We have evolved from a non-European country that qualifies out of luck, to a force not to be reckoned with. We're also very excited for our future endeavours!"
When the head of delegation was asked about what the plans for the 27th edition are, he replied:
"2M will select the Moroccan entry internally again. However, we have had heightened interest from both native and diasporic acts, and many artists were shortlisted, but we have since narrowed that down to 2. We'll soon be asking our 2 hopefuls for the song they intend to perform in Ukraine, and their best reasons as to why they are deserving of being the Moroccan flagbearer to one of the biggest music festivals in the world."
2M also confirmed today that they have obtained approval from the North Broadcasting Union for both entrants, and that the Moroccan entry will be revealed on December 28.

 Algeria confirms for the 27th edition!
This morning the Algerian broadcaster revealed its plans to hold the fifth edition
of the Algerian Music Festival.
This means that once again, the entry will be chosen through a national selection,
hoping for a success in the next edition of the North Vision Song Contest in  Ukraine.

The official broadcaster for Malta PBS can now confirm their participation in the North Vision Song Contest #27.
It has also been confirmed that the selection method will be internal

Liechtenstein to withdraw; new HoD to be appointed
to the surprise of absolutely nobody  Liechtenstein will be withdrawing from the North Vision Song Contest, following a press statement from the broadcaster released earlier today, acknowledging the resignation of its incumbent Head of Delegation. No further comment has been given on the country's future in the contest.
Truth is, I've never been interested in NVSC, nor do I think I ever will be. I was never one of those people who followed the contest before being able to participate, and I was hoping that as time passed having spot in the contest I would grow an interest for it (hence all the withdrawals) but that never happened. Because of this, I don't think it's fair to hold onto a spot in the contest when there's a waiting list full of people eager to join. Apart from that, despite my mere two participations in the contest lmao I'm glad to have given Liechtenstein a qualification as it doesn't have the best track record. Good luck to Apostolis who is Liechtenstein's successor

Today the Cypriot broadcaster CyBC confirms the HoD's retirement from the North Vision Song Contest, a new one will get selected soon enough for the 27th edition.
the post might look unneeded but I really wanted to do it so here you have it. Having Cyprus for 3,5(!) years and over 11 editions was such a beautiful journey for me and I also hope that my Co-HoDs have/had the same feeling. I never thought I would actually enter NVSC when I joined the Waiting List yet here I am. North Vision and Cyprus made me discover so many new 'Cypriot' (as Cypriot as it can get) artists and especially Finding Kate, which I sent thrice and I would send her again if I could. My results were obviously never the best but I was always satisfied with what I got, I was just excited about my participation. Uh almost forgot to mention Anavae, my best result which was truly iconique.
Anyway, I'm so glad that I'll finally have the chance to control miss Liechtenstein as I will have the chance to show and send more genres that I never had the chance to send with Cyprus

![]() ![]()  Macedonia Confirms their Participation in the 27th Edition!
Macedonia's participation was definitely for certain, and this decision was pushed because of the extremely successful edition in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The HoD of the Macedonian broadcaster Džoš MekAlister. Commented on the success of last edition and the upcoming edition!
"It came as a huge shock to everyone in Macedonia, Its so good to see Macedonia so high in the Northvision once again after many editions! We are much looking forward to this edition and the excitement that it brings for our country and being involved in such a fantastic event! The interest for the contest has increased vastly due to the great result from Bobi Andonov and many people have approached MRT to have a chance to represent Macedonia!"
This edition will mark the Return of..
There will be more news on Makedonska Superdzvezda very soon! With the start of entry reveals happening either Monday or Tuesday!

Montenegro's entry to be revealed on Thursday!
03/12/18 • PodgoricaFollowing the early confirmation of participation at the end of October, it is already almost time to discover the  Montenegrin entry for North Vision 27 in Ukraine, as it was teased two days ago by the delegation team and now confirmed in an official RTCG announcement that the entry will be revealed on Thursday, 6th December in a short show held at 20CET. Viewers will be invited to view the short show held in a TogetherTube room 10 minutes before it begins.
The entry will be the first under a new delegation team, following the resignation of previous HoD Max Notinterestedincontestsanymorevic, who has now been replaced by Alex Willactuallybothertovotevic. In a previous statement, the new delegation team said that they "will be aiming to change [their] approach to entries and maybe send things people aren't expecting", as well as aiming to address the pressing issue of declining interest in the contest, which has only been worsened by the entry, result and seeming lack of interest on the hand of the previous delegation.
"We are hoping that the show is just the beginning of gathering more and more interest for the contest," is what the new team said in a new statement released today, "Last edition is one for which we would like to leave the Montenegrin participation in the past, and we are now trying a more innovative approach to entries. We're very excited for the world to see what we've got prepared!"
