DAY 10
The last day of the 2nd round of matches kicked off with Lidonia who took on current last place in the group Vacansa. Lidonia seemed to play with less force today as they needed to save their energy against UL Jarea in their next match. Despite this, they still managed to take the victory over a 2-1 win. Vacansa could’ve easily claimed a point today , but failed to score on the penalty spot as the goal keeper from Lidonia managed to send it away from the goal. Lidonja took the 3 points which means they have qualified to the knockouts! However, the defeat of Vanasa means that they can no longer continue fighting for a place in the round of 16, therefore being eliminated with one game left to play.

In Stadözh Giina, it was time for Zylofonija v UL Jarea. UL Jarea seemed to have this match in the bag, by conceiving all 3 of their goals in the first half. However the 15 minute beak seemed to mess up their defensive momentum - as Zylofonija came back fighting and managed to score 3 times as well, thus at full time it was 3-3. As the players walked off, UL Jarea fans were booing their players , specifically the defence after an abysmal second. Both teams took 1 point away, which luckily kept Zylofonija in the competition still. UL Jarea also are in contention of qualifying, they will have to hope for at least a draw against Lidonia, and for Zylofonija to draw/loose against Vacansa.

The 2015 winners, Prunia, competed against Flírskmasto tonight at Stadözh Anaxat, Polushay to start the second round of matches in Group H. Prunia presented a world class lineup for their match today, and it certainly payed off with a solid 2-0 win over Flírskmasto. Both strikers got a chance at putting themselves in the limelight, as each scored a goal from corner kicks. The match was attended by an overwhelming amount of fans from Prunia, and seemed ecstatic that they won. Chants for the strikers were heard all round the stadium as Prunia is now very close from qualifying to the knockouts. They currently are second in the group, and managed to downgrade Flírskmasto to third. However, there are 2 spots for qualification and 3 teams in contention, so the next matches are going to be crucial for both sides. Prunia has an edge more , so they will need to win their next match for certain qualification - or Flírskmasto loosing their next match. Flirskmasto must win their next match or hope for a Prunia draw/loss.

The last match of round 2 came from Stadözh Munden in Polushay where last place Qasentria took to the field with Levalle. Yet again, another heart aching defeat for Qasentria - but an outstanding win for Levalle as the match ended as 0-4. The goals from Levalle came from their captain , who managed to get the hat-trick. The fourth goal for Levalle came from an accidental own goal from Qasentria during a corner kick. Levalle can feel the excitement of winning for now - as their next match could decide weather they make it to the knockouts or not . They face Flírskmasto in the capital in four days time, they must win if they want a certain qualification , however they could qualify if they draw and hope Prunia draws/looses. This match put Qasentria’s World Cup dreams to bed, as they have no goals and no points , even if they win their next match against Prunia, it will not be enough to get through. They have the biggest goal difference of the tournament so far, at -10.

DAY 11
Round 3 of matches began today and for the last time, we began with Group A , where Trivania, took on the Hosts Wedse. Trivania needed to win this match in order to stand a chance of qualifying, as they previously lost both of their last group games. The match did not go in their favour as disappointed Trivanian fans watched their team exit the World Cup by finishing on a 1-1 draw against Wedse. Wedse carried the majority of the match, holding a 1-0 lead until a dramatic climax in the closing quarter , where Trivania scored from the penalty spot and suddenly continued to make attempts to win the match. Wedse managed to fight back , and as the full time whistle went, the fans in the Capital went crazy as history was made - Wedse has qualified for their first ever round of 16 match. Trivania took a point from this match which gave the team a little bit of happiness, but they are dead last in the group. Wedse on the other hand finished 1st place in the group and will face runner up of Group B , on the 20th December in Polushay.

In Mashgaikhaltai, Dyria played Torlova in a very competitive match, as one place was left to decide in Group A - whoever would win this match would get to qualify to the knockouts. Luckily, Dyria started the match with an outstanding goal outside the goal area , proving they had what it took to go to the knockouts. This out a damper on Torlova’s momentum and hope, which could clearly be seen right after the goal. Torlovan fans started to leave the stadium in shame of their team, but nothing was settled just yet - a penalty was awarded to Torlova , but the pressure got to the striker and humiliatingly missed the goal. Dyria sealed their spot as runner ups in group A , collecting 6 points in total - they will face the winner of Group B in Stadözh Munden, Polushay!

Group B had their last games played today, Aquia faced Moly-Boronia. They both were currently in contention to qualify , a draw for Moly-Boronia is all that was left between them and making it to the round of 16. Sadly, they lost 3-2 , but managed to keep a draw with the runners up of last year, right until the 90+2 minute, when Aquia scored from a header. This meant that Aquia made it through without a doubt, claiming the maximum 9 points available in their group , and winning their group - which means that Aquia will face Dyria in the round of 16. Moly-Boronia’s dreams were still in hope as they awaited the result of the Drevona v Yster game. If Drevona wins that game, they’re goal difference must be more than +1 to overtake Moly-Boronia and qualify!

Drevona played Yster and won 2-1 tonight, the fans from Moly-Boronia we’re anticipating a good result on their behalf , and luckily enough received it ! Drevona was 2-0 in the lead by half time , which potentially could’ve got them the qualification they’re team desired - this got crushed by Yster scoring in the 46th minute of the second half. The game continued with the same score and finished as a 2-1 win for Drevona. Despite the win , this did mean that they failed to qualify for the knockouts as their goal difference wasn’t sufficient enough to pass Moly-Boronia. A sad Yster , as they came last in the group with 0 points , but a bigger heart ache for Drevona, if they scored one more goal, they could’ve been going to the round of 16. A joyous moment for Moly-Boronia , this meant they would face hosts Wedse in their next game!
So congratulations  Wedse,  Dyria,  Aquia,  Moly-Boronia - you have qualified for the knockouts !
