DAY 12
Day 13 of matches kicked off with Corzazjan , taking on last years winners Niolskiaj. Corzazjan managed beat the title holders to win 2-1 , and claim an essential 3 points. They had the win in the bag from the start, as they played in such style - conceiving both their goals in the first 20 minutes. Niolskiaj then followed after , in the 86th minute. Many fans from Corzazjan were already chanting before full time - they knew that their country was going to qualify. Soon the whistle blew and the shocked Corzazjan players all dropped with disbelief: they beat the winner and also qualified for the knockouts! Their official placing in the group was unknown until Kazkya and US Eldance finished their game. Niolskiaj were now fearing their chances, as they prayed US Eldance would loose in order for them to see the round of 16...

Evergreen took the the pitch with Sincuerello in Polushay. Evergreen had a glimpse of hope with their qualification as they scored they opening opening goal from a huge strike from the captain. However this glory didn’t last long as Sincuerello scored twice within the first half, and a penalty in the second half. Fans from Sincuerello could almost celebrate , as they had to wait for the Fordia v Sirenforest match to confirm their ranking in Group D. However, Evergreen had their confirmed place of 4th in the group , and only gained a point from the 2019 tournament, which meant their journey came to an end tonight.

Fordia beat Sirenforest 2-0 which secured their place in the knockouts! They scored twice: one from a corner kick, and the other from a counter attack. This allowed Fordia to finish in first position in Group D, with 7 points in total and they will face the runner up of Group C in Mashgaikhaltai, on the 20th December. This mean that Sirenforest played their final match of the tournament , and finished with 3 points in the group but can no longer continue any further in Wedse. Their journey is now over. Luckily, this brings joy for Sincuerello fans as they qualify in second position to the knockouts ! They will face the winner of group D in the capital.

The last match of day 12 came from Kazkya vs US Eldance, in a shocking match. Kazkya managed to defy the odds and beat US Eldance with just 1 goal , from the penalty spot ! This meant that US Eldance came crashing down at the last hurdle, and failed to qualify to the final , coming 3rd with 4 points. Booing was heard from one half of the stadium - the other half was filled with cheers, despite Kazkya also failing to qualify , they got their fist ever World Cup win , finishing on a high note! Fans from Niolskiaj were also happy as they finished in second position in the group, which means they will take on Fordia in Mashgaikhaltai. Corzazjan placed 1st in the group with 6 points , and will compete against Sincuerello in the Capital for a place in the quarter finals. A very upsetting day for US Eldance, an amazing day for the other three teams !
