THE FAROE ISLANDS CONFIRM!
KVF announced the participation of the Faroe Islands in the upcoming edition of the North Vision Song Contest.
After the country's first non-qualification from a Pre-Qualification-Round, fans and artists of the country were outraged. Marina Háberg, Faroese Head of Delegation has confirmed that the previously used National Selection "Sangur" will return. This time though with 5 different acts. "We will have to stay focused to go back to our previous success. [...] We will be selecting between a variety of songs with great quality and remarkable sounds." Marina Háberg announced in the press conference yesterday evening.
The artists have already been selected by the broadcaster after a record amount of submissions (228) have been revised. The 5 acts will be revealed in due course.  DENMARK TO BE PRESENT IN IRELAND! Despite their second non-qualification in a row,  DR has announced that the country will be competing in the upcoming 29th edition, to be held in Ireland. The broadcaster also announced further information regarding the country's selection process for the next edition. DMGP REMAINS AS THE SELECTION PROCESS Dansk Melodi Grand Prix has been officially confirmed for its 23rd edition that will select Denmark's 29th entry in the contest. The Head of Delegation has confirmed that the broadcaster has already selected several songs for the upcoming selection and is expected to start this week. It was, however, reported that there might be several changes when it comes to the voting system with the broadcaster citing last edition's results as the reason of this "much needed change". It is unknown as of now how the winner will be selected, although it's been heavily rumored that the format change will re-introduce the super-final round, which was used between the 12th and 16th editions. "There are no plans at the moment for us to withdraw, the interest is still pretty high for the contest, despite a small decrease these past two editions. We are also trying to change the voting system. It was a much needed change and hopefully it will be proven successful." DR © 2019 |
