 SWISS ENTRY REVEALED The time has come to announce who will represent Switzerland in the upcoming edition of the North Vision Song Contest, to be held in Lillehammer,  Norway.
SRG SSR is proud to reveal that the Swiss entrant will be none other than...IKAN HYU! Ikan Hyu is a Zurich-based duo consisting of Hannah Bissegger and Anisa Djojoatmodjo.
"Elastic Plastic Power Pop is what they call their 22nd century hybrid. Ikan Hyu harbours an obsession with fishy business: The Swiss duo uses ‘synthesizerdeepseabass’, sharp guitar riffs and ‘dike breaking’ drumbeats to ‘get the planets dancing’ and proclaims: ‘All the fishes in the sea, get away ‘cuz here comes he: Ikan Hyu!’"
Ikan Hyu are no strangers to the North Vision scene, as they have already attempted to represent Switzerland back in #27, with their song "Supernova", ultimately losing to eventual contest winner CRIMER and "Brotherlove".They will perform "LFO" in Lillehammer!We'd like to wish the best of luck to Ikan Hyu and may they achieve a great result!

 Serbian entry revealed
With 32.26% of the vote, the Serbian entry for the 31st edition of the North Vision Song Contest is "Stronger" by Vojvodina-based band, Phrenia.
It is Serbia's first English language entry since Kovic achieved 2nd place in edition 25

 DNS 28 COMES TO AN END! Oslo, Norway • 14 February 2020 Last night the 28th edition of Den Norsken Sangen concluded. 10 acts fought for the right to represent Norway as the host of the upcoming edition but only one made it. NRK is proud to present the next Norwegian representative:
SKAAR • "FIVE TIMES" With the astounding margin of 46 points from the runner-up, SKAAR managed to win the 28th edition of DNS with the song "Five Times" getting 304 points, breaking the record of most points received by a DNS song ever.
Born Hilde Skaar from the small west coast island Stord in Norway, surrounded by fjords, forests, and mountains, she began writing music and playing guitar at a very young age. On this little island, she grew up experiencing total freedom and the feeling of belonging somewhere. Very attached to the astonishing and sometimes brutal nature around her, she has realized that the nature inside and the one surrounding her can be similar sometimes.
SKAAR’s incredible talent as an artist, but also a songwriter, resulted in a record deal with Warner Music at the age of 19. She tried to represent Norway in two occations in the past coming 2nd with "Higher Ground" and 6th with "24". Her first EP is set to be released this month, including her previous singles and Norway's official entry for North Vision Song Contest 31 in home ground.

 KRÍA WILL REPRESENT ICELAND!
After weeks of silence from Iceland, the Icelandic broadcaster has finally revealed the lucky act that will be representing them in Lillehammer. After many artists expressed their interest in taking part and numerous songs submitted to the broadcaster, the Icelandic delegation decided to choose KRÍA as the lucky participant.
KRÍA is an Icelandic singer who is based in South East London. Despite being based in the United Kingdom, she has always returned to Iceland to give performances, specifically in Reykjavík. Starting her career in 2015, the singer has since done both international and local gigs and continues to make music up until today.
The singer describes her style as "ice-pop" which is a form of electronic pop music which is mixed with colourful and otherworldly visuals. She has gained a positive reputation for this style in his performances. During performances, she tends to also distort/manipulate her voice to somehow distance herself from the audience. In an interview with the Reykjavík Grapevine, she explained that:
“It’s similar to a mask; a protective mechanism. I used to be more anxious and insecure, but now I feel I have a better grasp over my creative process and outlet.”
As of February 2020 she has released 4 EPs, on one of which the Icelandic entry can be found. This isn't KRÍA's first attempt to represent Iceland; last edition, she took part in the selection Ferðin til Svíþjóðar with her song Hiding but didn't manage to fare well in the end. However, the Icelandic broadcaster decided to give her a chance in the end due to her unique style of music and also the fact that the country is automatically qualified to the final which the Icelandic team viewed as an opportunity to send something different.
Speaking in Reykjavík, KRÍA stated that:
It really is an honour for me to represent my country. I honestly wasn't expecting to be chosen at all, and no matter what the outcome is I will continue to make my country proud in Norway!

As a result of Of Monsters and Men's 3rd place in #30, KRÍA will be automatically qualified to the final in Norway. We wish the best of luck to our representative in the contest!
