 SWEDEN TO TAKE PART IN THE THIRTY-FIRST EDITION!SVT has just confirmed  Sweden's ongoing participation for the 31st edition of the North Vision Song Contest. FANTASIFESTIVALEN TO BE HELD ONCE AGAIN!  Fantasifestivalen will be held once again in order to find the Swedish entrant for the 31st NVSC edition. The format of the competition will be kept as in previous editions, such as #29 for instance. The Head of Delegation, Jan Björkman, said: "We are thrilled for how things are going with Fantasifestivalen and Sweden in the contest at the moment. The public interest in our country is as high as it has been never before. There's no doubt that we would hold another edition of Fantasifestivalen to showcase the best of the Swedish music industry and select our next entrant for the North Vision Song Contest."SVT SELLS THE FANTASIFESTIVALEN FORMAT SVT has moreover announced, that after requests from other nations, they have successfully sold the format of Fantasifestivalen in order to be implemented for other countries. The Head of Delegation, Jan Björkman, said: "Of course we have noticed, but seemingly also other countries have noticed, that Fantasifestivalen is a successful concept not only itself but also for the following competition of North Vision. Yes, I can confirm, that we have received requests to get the format of Fantasifestivalen to be held in other countries and we have therefore sold the format in order for a new selection to be created. We can not wait how it will turn out to be and make sure to be following the country's selection - our daughter selection - on its way to find a successful entrant for their country. I will not yet reveal which country it is about but I can certainly announce that it is going to be hot. Stay tuned." |

Azerbaijan will obviously compete in the NorthVision Song Contest 31! Despite the fourth unsuccessful attempt to qualify from the Pre-Qualification round in the thirtieth edition of North Vision Song Contest, Azerbaijan confirms its presence in the upcoming edition of the contest. "iTV" ensured that the second edition of "Layihə: Northvision" will be held to select the entrant of the Caucasus country. However, this time the number of participants will be increased from 4 to 10 participants. For the first time since the last change of the head of the delegation, a foreign act will be introduced in the selection. Who will be the 10 lucky artists to perform in the selection?

KAZAKHSTAN WILL PARTICIPATE!
Astana, Kazakhstan. 5th January 2020.
The head of delegation, Ivo Maskunyanov stated in a press conference "Kazakhstan will participate in the 31st edition of NVSC. We are looking to return to the Final, after the failure of last edition in the PQR."
He also announced: "I can also confirm that Äwenfestïvali 31 will be our selection method, we are already contacting some singers and starting with the selection of songs".
NATIONAL FINAL From now on you can suggest songs to compete in the NF via the official form of NTK.

 IRELAND CONFIRMS!After a rather disappointing result and failure to qualify to the final, despite being predicted to qualify, it was decided that Ireland will take part in the upcoming edition of North Vision Song Contest. The competition is getting stronger, and in such circumstances one failure is not a reason to give up. The broadcaster is hopeful that the next entrant can manage to bring the country back in the final.
It can also be announced that another edition of Emerald Festival will take place, this time with a bit different format.
Any artist from Ireland,  Northern Ireland and diaspora is allowed to submit a song for the selection.
The public can also submit their suggetions to Mihai. |

 GREECE OPTS FOR A NATIONAL FINAL After an exciting edition and with Lila Trianti's fifth consecutive qualification as well as, a positive feedback from fans that follow the contest, ERT decided to announce already that the country will be present! Record breaking numbers occured in Malmö, achieving the highest ratings the contest ever did in the country.  "It's all greek to me", said the Head of Delegation, while revealing that the next edition of NorthSong will happen. 7 acts were chosen to fight for the ticket and the right to represent the nation in the forth-coming North Vision Song Contest, while it was also revealed that this time the songs are all entirely or at least half in Greek. Greeks, Cypriots and even internationals have expressed their will to participate in NorthSong 0015, but the delegation did not reveal any further information about it.  SPAIN CONFIRMS!RTVE is proud to announce that Spain will return after an absence of three editions. After struggling with budgetcuts the Spanish broadcaster is back into business and appointed a new Head of Delegation: Juan Ribero.Juan Ribero: I feel more than honoured to be able to call myself the Head of Delegation of such a big country as Spain is. I truly want to thank the previous Head of Delegation for the great heights he brought Spain to. I can already feel the pressure to live up to everybody's expectations, I hope I can succeed and offer everybody in the North Vision community, Spain's best of the best.Besides the news that the Iberian country would return to the North Vision Song Contest. The broadcaster announced that the next entrant would be selected through a national selection.
FESTIVAL IBÉRICO After the news that SVT sold it's succesful Fantasifestivalen to two other European broadcasters rumours began spreading that it was RTVE who bought the concept. Today it was announced that RTVE indeed bought the rights to create their own spin-off of the Swedish show. The broadcaster wil co-operate with non-other than RTP to produce their Iberian version of the television series. Both broadcasters will provide 14 acts spread over four semi-finals. The highest placed Spanish and Portugese entries will represent their homecountry respectively. More details will be released later on.Juan Ribero: To truly offer the best of the best we chose for a selection proces known for their high quality winners. We see this as a project mixing high quality production with the flavour the Iberian peninsula is able to deliver. This should according to our view make a wonderful show. To be able to do this with our collegues at RTP is a great chance to show Europe what two nations can achieve together. With recent news about a certain hickup between two world nations, this project just proves how co-operation can create something truly wonderful.
 The logo of the first edition of Festival IbéricoSpain has participated a total of twentyfour times since the country's debut in the first edition of the contest. The country was off to a rough start with in the first decade only qualifying two out of nine times. This changed mid-second decade however with the country only non-qualifying two times up the twenty-seventh edition. Most notable with Iris in the sixteenth, Alvaro in the nineteenth, Lorena in the twentythird and Lola in the twenty-sixth edition, all placing in the top 6, automatically placing the country in next edition's final. After this the country had to deal with budget-cuts and so they had to dissapear from the North Vision-radar, with many fans hoping for a Spanish return in the near future. PORTUGAL CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION!
Today, the 8th of January 2020, the head of delegation of the Portuguese broadcaster  RTP, Alexandre de Macedo, confirmed that the nation will definitely be present at the thirty-first edition of the contest. Many speculations filled all social networks about what the new selection process would be, since the national selection process for the previous edition was cancelled and the country has qualified twice in a row for the second time ever — the first time being from the first to the second edition.
Alexandre de Macedo: "The entire team specialised in the contest is very happy and amazed at how effective the results of our nation are being after the entire delegation was switched up. The last time our nation qualified to the final twice in a row was twenty-eight editions ago, and it's definitely showing up how the effort that's being put is finally showing the artistic quality that the country has been hiding. Fans all across the country were very upset that the national selection planned for the thirtieth edition was cancelled, so this time we had to dream big and give them what they want."
But it was yesterday when Juan Ribero, the new head of delegation of the  Spanish broadcaster RTVE, announced that both broadcasters will co-operate to create their own spin-off of the most popular Northvision national selection:  Fantasifestivalen.
FESTIVAL IBÉRICO
As Juan Ribero confirmed during the announcement of the Spanish return, each of the countries has collected fourteen songs which will be spread over four different semi-finals, which will take place all around the peninsula and, by the end, the highest placing Portuguese and Spanish entries will represent their respective countries.
Alexandre de Macedo: "This proposal was received after RTVE bought the rights of the Swedish show, and seconds after the proposal was received, our broadcaster had no other choice than to accept it. This will definitely start a new era for both Spain and Portugal, since the project itself represents how tied two countries can be, regardless of how different and similar their cultures are at the same time, and how working with each other can help both of us to promote our artistic values. Appart from this, a lot of competitivity between fans from both countries will definitely develop, since this is way more than just a national selection for the contest. We're very grateful to the Spanish delegation for giving us this oportunity."

Romania confirms TVR confirms Romania's participation for the 31st edition of the North Vision Song Contest held in  TBA. Although Sickotoy & Roxen failed to qualify after the country had achieved favourable results, the nation will still be present. The broadcaster is still unsure of the method which will be used to select the entry but further information regarding it will be revealed at a later date.
