Special Edition #90 + #100 Themes

My suggestions:
1. Songs with a number in title (obviously it can contain other words as well, but at least one of the words in the song title has to be a number)
2. A remix/cover/revamp of an original song (songs submitted can't be the originals but any other version of the original song that is performed/remixed by local artists). But instead of just any song, both the original and the remix/cover/revamp has to be done by local artists. Basically the song has to stay local. Obviously this theme can be modified. (Example: a local DJ remixes a song. It's pretty much the same song performed by the same original artists, but it's been remixed by someone else (in this case a DJ), not the original artists themselves)
3. Movie soundtracks (no need to explain this one)

My theme proposition: It's similar to "Random Theme Lottery" but the song title have to contain: An animal, a color, a number, symbol ( ? ! € % ) or a place (like cities or countries)

Wow. The last awards were held in November / December and now we're already discussing the theme for #90.

I have only 1 idea right now:
Something / Someone we'd normally not send. I'm pretty sure we all have that.


And about the poll: I liked all of the topics we had in the past (It's just that it didn't turn out the way I'd have personally liked it to and I'm not only talking about the results - but that's not the topic now) and voted for the ones from: #20, #30, @40 and #60 which are also the ones I find the most creative.

Special edition survey

This time the selection of the Special Edition theme will work a bit differently. Instead of voting for your top three or so, I decided you can rate them instead. Please avoid giving multiple themes the same rating (example: giving 4 of them 1 and 10 to your favourite. In case your favorite doesn't win, you didn't support your second favourite.)

Suggested themes
1. Covers (remixes, revamps, parodies) Everyone must send a song that was originally released by another artist or artists from your country.
2. Second Chance Everyone must send a song by an artist that has scored the lowest in the previous editions. That includes the bottom 3 by points to avoid confusion. In case of any type of collaboration (duet, feature), the player has more acts to choose from. In case of a tie of the highest scored act the first tie break is position (lower position gets the advantage), the second tie break is amount of players in the given edition, if it’s still tied, the fourth act can also be chosen from.
3. Soundtracks By the Wikia definition a soundtrack is music accompanying and synchronized to a movie, book, TV show or video game. Therefore, everyone must send a song that has been a soundtrack to something.
4. National genre/Traditional song Every country must send a song in a national, regional genre (ethno, folk, turbo-folk) or a song that officially/originally doesn’t have an artist because it’s sung by the people and is that way passed from generation to generation (you will most likely send a version that is performed by someone known*).
5. Our parents’ Birth Year Everyone must send an entry that was released in a year of either of your parents or your legal guardians' birth year including +/- 1 year. If a parent or both are deceased, that plays no role. If a player has a missing birth year, the manager will determine it.

*as opposed to unknown, not necessarily famous.

What would make an edition (very) special in your opinion?
a. Challenging theme (requires some research)
b. Abstract (like matching your entry to a picture, quote, lyric)
c. Many different aspects to the theme (a few themes in one, restrictions, format, voting)
d. Players with different themes (like Random Theme Lottery)
e. Restrictions (i.e. no worldwide hits, no returning artists)
f. Different voting system (voting for more than 10)
g. Collaboration (like in Suggestion Pairs)
h. Different format (semis, battles, heats)
i. All of the above

Clarifications:
a. A theme that is not considered easy by most participants. A theme that should require some time to find a song that fits to it.
b. It is up to the player’s imagination to make a connection to the given topic.
c. A few easier themes combined. A theme combined with a different voting system, a different format or some restrictions.
d. Example: everyone has to fit the artist to a different letter, number, picture, and so on.
e. Example - no worldwide hits, no returning artists, no females, only pre-90s songs, and so on.
f. The players would be able to vote for 12 countries instead of 10.
g. The players have to work together in pairs or smaller groups.
h. Instead of only a final, the contest could have semi-finals, duels, battles (by continents) or heats.
i. Only select this without picking anything else.
