Friek is the sixth entry, situated right after us locating our own "unwellbeing" with Wolken - we have walked away from everything we held dear, isolated us to prosper, to find new ways, but to what price? Safe With Me and Wolken have led us down a similar path, but unlike with for My Famous Laughter, we don't merely want to put a fake smile on it. By now, we've accepted our selves more and more. This entry may be dark, but it's also purely honest with its lyrics of being who we want to be. A continuation of Wolken's story arc, this is a story evolving ever since Safe With Me.

Interestingly, the aesthetic of the entry mirrors Rolling in many ways, though the message is completely different.





"Premiered a few weeks ago, Lou Asril’s third outing “Friek” might be his best yet. It’s another great R&B/pop piece in his growing repertoire, but it’s also accompanied by an impressive video directed by Rupert Höller – one that took a ton of creativity rather than a heavy budget. In the clip, darkness and light seem to have a tense dialogue and you can’t be sure about its conclusion. Similarly, “Friek” as a song is as much about sound as about that silence in the middle, both negotiating their way to a fragile balance. We can only hope Lou Asril keeps it exactly like that."

He is only 20 years of age and already declared himself to be of high profile in the Austrian scene of soul and rnb: Lou Asril (Lukas Riel) has just released his first self-titled minialbum 'louasril'. In his songs, there's a distinct direction that covers self-love and acceptance, freedom, sex - and men.
