Hello Europe!  Croatia is calling and we are proud to reveal our entry for the 32nd edition in Luxembourg!We opted for an internal selection and one of the biggest musicians in Croatia has been chosen. She has competed in past Croatian national selections however, she never was chosen. She changed her name and image and now we have our new artist!

The spontaneous national selection "PNV #18" lasted 2 weeks and a total of 34 different (Co-)HoDs have voted. Each of the six competing entries had to be rated individually... and now there is a clear winner. KHAYAT and his song "Osoka" managed to get the trophy with an average rating of 3.91/5, leaving behind the runner-up "Novaya sila kiski" with an obvious margin. The rest of the result can be seen below the music video below.
Andriy Oleksandrovych Khayat (better known by his stage name KHAYAT) is an Ukrainian singer. He was born the 3rd April 1997 in the little town of Znamenka in the center of Ukraine. With an age of 23, he already gained much experience as a singer and songwriter, his career starting with his debut single "Devochka" two years ago.
He performs songs in the genre of folktronic by mixing modern, electronic beats with unique, traditional instruments and singing styles. Above all, he is an outstanding singer thanks to his exceptional vocals, which sometimes reminds his listeners to "white singing", a special singing technique being one of the most associated music elements for slavic countries.
KHAYAT's winning song "Osoka" is not only combining his special vocals and "white singing" background vocals, but there is an almost like Chinese element given the instrumental. "Osoka" (English: Sedge) is, as said by KHAYAT himself on his Facebook page, "the cleaning of everything that has happened to him in the past." He really wanted to film a clip to this song where he could only personify his music style and emotions, but as well giving his emotions a representation in an visual image.
