Despite early rumours for a national selection being held to determine the upcoming entry that is to represent the Alpine country in Georgia, Austria has opted for a sudden internal selection with an act that hasn't been in their focus until recently. Promptly, in a rushed press conference with the Moldovan delegation, both entries were presented to the public for the first time.

STILL NOTHING (GODDAMN)

will be sung by ELIS NOA in the semi-final!

STILL NOTHING (GODDAMN) is the seventh entry, situated right after appreciation and recognition of our "Friek" - yet, the one we long for is still denying. A continuation of Lou Asril's story in many ways. "This one's about self- worth, about being frank with yourself and asking others to do the same. Once again, no time for euphemisms."

"What do you desire?"
ELIS NOA ask that question in their debut album.

What do you 'truly' desire? In your relationship, in your friendship. In your profession, your art? Am I truly happy in it? Or am I content with the circumstances that are a template from my mind, my surroundings and my upbringing? This song is about self-worth, about naming things by name. What do you wish for? What do you hide? Inner freedom can only arise when we recognize, accept and express our wishes and facets, ourselves and others. Only then can we be free."
In "Still Nothing (Goddamn)", Elisa discards with the lyrical self. It's okay to be vulnerable. "During production I didn't take my analytical side so seriously and let my feelings guide me when making musical decisions. We didn’t want to work head-on, we wanted to implement the theme of the album musically as true as possible."

ELIS NOA from Vienna push the boundaries of electronic pop. Their musical framework ranges from pop to contemporary R&B, all the way to future soul. With their second single release "Still Nothing (Goddamn)", ELIS NOA (Elisa Godino and Aaron Hader) once again create a distinct sound woven together by Godino's extraordinary voice — relinquishing pop music from it’s conventional structures without losing it’s accessibility. Their songs give a sense of longevity while still moving with the frontiers of contemporary pop.

MOLDOVAN ENTRY ANNOUNCED!

Today, TeleRadio Moldova

held a press conference alongside the Austrian delegation, announcing the

Moldovan entry for the

33rd edition of the the North Vision Song Contest. In anticipation for the entry, the head of delegation made a statement right before the press conference started:

""Oh honey - it's a bop!"

LA COSTUM

will be sung by DARA in the semi-final!

LA COSTUM is the eight entry by this delegation. Dara has been an anticipated act to represent Moldova in the past, participating in various national selection methods.

Nicoleta Dara was born in 1993 in Moldova. She has been singing since she was three years old. At the age of 7, Dara auditioned for the Romanian song contest Ti Amo. In her teen years she recorded music with Anatol Roscovan. She attended the National College of Commerce and while there learned to play piano and guitar. She has been working with singer-songwriter Eugen Doibani, who produced her debut album Unsorted, since she was 17. Doibani and Roscovan wrote many of the songs on album, along with Dara.

Dara will represent Moldova with a typical pop banger we used to send in the past! and we hope you all agree.

BELGIUM HAS CHOSEN!

Brussels, 26 July 2020

Yet another edition of the newly established Belgian selection format - BELfestival has just come to an end. Once again, it enticed great interest of viewers and was acclaimed by the audience and local music critics. Both Flemish and Walloon artists were encouraged to fight for the right of representing their home country in the thirty-third edition of the North Vision Song Contest set to be held in Georgia. It was suggested that the repertoire of our national selection was filled out with a diversity of languages and genres. A great success, being the third place achieved by Joane last edition in Luxembourg has broken the ice for the other musicians willing to submit their entry due to being automatically qualified to the grand final. The voting process was properly held and the overall winner as well as the Belgian representative for the forthcoming edition has finally been determined! Let's take a brief look at our twelve hopefuls for the last time before announcing the lucky one.

LEA RUE

Emma Lauwers, also known as Lea Rue is a Belgian singer-songwriter born and raised in a family with eclectic outlooks on life. She is one of the most intriguing breakout stars the Belgian pop scene has seen in recent years. Despite the fact that Lea has not released new music for quite a long period of time, she decided to give North Vision a chance and submitted her song to the Flemish broadcaster which was later shortlisted as one of the twelve possible Belgian acts.

Emma's North Vision entry, "Une minute" is her first release in which she sings in both her native language French and English and is mainly characterized by an intriguing production. Several string instruments mixed with classic house elements are easily audible, resulting in a wonderfully captivating sound. Lea Rue can definitely be considered as the Belgian princess of the dance floor and so she continues to stay in power with “Une minute”. It is also worth pointing out that it is the first time ever in their North Vision history when Belgium sends a song not performed fully in English for a second consecutive edition. None of the previously selected bilingual acts have qualified to the grand final and therefore "Une minute" is the first one to ever do so.

IRELAND HAS CHOSEN!
The 7th edition of Éire Festival just came to an end. 10 songs competed for the chance to represent Ireland in the upcoming edition of North Vision Song Contest to be held in Georgia. The juries from 32 countries and the Rest of the World have voted by ranking the 10 songs. After a tense voting, a winner has been found.

Megan Sullivan McInerney, born 6 July 1990 in Sydney, known as Meg Mac, is an

Irish-

Australian singer-songwriter and musician. She grew up in an Irish family surrounded by the sounds of her mum singing old Irish songs and records. Mac started developing her singing as soon as she could speak. She started writing songs as a teen. Meg says "I was always inspired by soulful voices and big voices - I grew up listening to and mostly influenced by singers."

"Give Me My Name Back" was released on 12 October 2018. It is the lead single from her second studio album Hope, which was released on 7 June 2019. Upon release Mac told Billboard: "Give Me My Name Back is a song for those who have suffered emotional and physical abuse, it's for the women who are standing up and speaking out, those discriminated against in the LGBTQI community, the Indigenous people of Australia and the children abused by the church. It's for everyone who has lost an important part of themselves and need to reclaim their identity, dignity and self-worth in order to move forward with their lives."

ENTRY REVEALED!

PUBLISHED ON JULY 26TH, 2020 IN PODGORICA, MONTENEGRO

The nation's presence in the upcoming North Vision Song Contest was confirmed by the head of delegation earlier this month.

Right after the confirmation announcement from the country, speculations started to arise. Many fans hoped a previous North Vision alum

Senidah to represent the country once again, but the rumours were falsified by an insider.

And now, after a challenging yet hopeful search across the country, the representant of the country has been found. Yes, it's another returnee - actually two!

MEET THE ARTISTS...

SPACETRAIN and HOENNI!

THE OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVES FOR MONTENEGRO AT THE 33RD EDITION OF THE NORTH VISION SONG CONTEST

SPACETRAIN have been leading Dean Montenegro and Dave Macloed not only as a band for 23 years, but also as a composition and production company. They always work with new musicians for their own songs. The duo has participated in the contest as well, in the 27th edition back in Ukraine to be precise. They unfortunately failed to qualify from the semi final, placing 11th. Still this is a rather succesful placement for the country, since its history is not so bright. Now, they are back to the contest with quite a different sound, collaborating with a another returnee,

Hönni (She participated under her stage name Vava Voom back in the 20th edition.)

The single "Salsa Me" was created with the singer Börni. Her sensual, spirited voice harmonises perfectly with the musical mix of pop and latin, combined with sexy salsa elements. The song promises a hot summer, takes you to the beach and lets you dance the night away. "Salsa Me" clearly stands out from the flood of Latino hits. This is shown above all by the placements in countless foreign charts. The single has also been in the DJ charts in Germany for 15 weeks and even slips to number 8 in between. This is how Dean Montenegro and Dave Macloed made their way into the "UK Commercial Pop Charts". A placement in the UK is something that Swiss (and Montenegrin) artists rarely succeed.
