 MATCH DAY 14 Today, the first games of the Round of 32 kicked off in Dýria. 8 countries would be playing today across the 4 cities to determine whether or not they will advance to the Round of 16.
MATCH 73 Dýria (Dylan ) vs Ximbala (Jmain )
The first game to be played today would be between hosts Dýria and Ximbala in Dyflinnjaborg. Both countries placed second in their groups and have shown to be fierce opponents in this tournament so far. The stakes were high, as already Fordia, one of the hosts, managed to fail to qualify by placing last in their group, and Dýrian fans feared that this may happen in the Round of 32 for Dýria. Both sides played quite well - Dýria scored their first goal at the 40th minute, while Ximbala scored at the 82nd minute.
As the result was a draw, the match would eventually be determined by penalties; despite good shots from both sides, Dýria did not manage to match Ximbala's penalties and as a shock and disgust to the fans in the stadium, one of the hosts were eliminated which prompted fans in the stadium to leave immediately, as the beginning of the song "Gone" by Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens was accidentally played in the stadium. Ximbala advances forward, while the Dýrian captain has resigned from his position immediately, apologizing to fans for the poor and embarrassing performance in recent games.
MATCH 74 Aquia (Aless ) vs Juliana (agni ) Group A winners Aquia took on Group C runner ups Juliana in Sjóborg. Aquian fans were hoping to continue their country's impressive results in the tournament so far, while the Julianoise fans were quite confused on how their country got to the Round of 32 in the first place. After some good moves from Aquia, the team managed to get their first goal at the 57th minute. The Julianoise side seemed to be stronger on the defense, as the team managed to block two Aquian goals from happening. However, ultimately the Julianoise side were not able to score 1 goal during this match and leads to Juliana being eliminated from the tournament. Some fans have blamed this on Nene Leakes in lieu of recent drama in Dýria, but the star has stated that: Nope, not my fault hunni! They must've had the same wigs as K*m Z*lciak.
MATCH 75 Sirenforest (✨ Forrest ✨ ) vs Ninelie (Wysteria ) Group C winners Sirenforest took on the 3rd place Ninelie from Group E in Naoned today. The two neighbours were coincidentally drawn together for the Round of 32, and thus there was some rivalry between the two teams in the stadium today. Going into this game, Sirenforestian fans had high hopes to see their country advancing to the next round, as they have had an impressive run in the tournament so far, while Nineliese fans were hoping for a miracle. The match kicked off and within the first 20 minutes, Sirenforest scored their first goal of the match, much to the dismay of Nineliese fans. Despite some good shots from Ninelie, Sirenforest managed to score a second goal just before half-time. The second half of the match was quite boring, not much happened with only a few close calls where Ninelie blocked off a third Sirenforestian goal from happening. Sirenforest advances forward, and will face Ximbala in the next round.
MATCH 76 Prunia (Blandine ) vs Neocastria (Holland ) Group B's winner Prunia took on newcomers and 3rd place of Group D, Neocastria, in Tráway today. Given Prunia's recent success in the tournament, fans were hoping for a landslide win against Neocastria to advance further in the tournament. However, fans from both side would be in for a disappointing match overall. Neither team were able to score a goal throughout the entire match, and like Dýria vs Ximbala, the match went into penalties. Once Prunia scored their first penalty and Neocastria missed, Neocastrian fans were hoping for a miracle. However, this was not to be - Prunia wins against Neocastria with 3-0 on penalties and thus Neocastria is eliminated from the World Cup. Prunia will face off against Aquia in the next round.

MATCH DAY 15 Four more matches of the Round of 32 took place today, and just like the first day, they were all hosted in one of the host countries, in this case Decoria.
MATCH 77 Llort (MaRtIn) vs. Vacansa (Ｂ３ＳＴＢＥＡＴＳ) The first match of the day took place in Bjørnskov Stadion in Gladsaxe. Group D runner-up, Llort took on the also runner-up from Group E, Vacansa. Despite some struggles at the beginning from Llort, and the early goal scored for Vacansa (at the 15th minute), the Llortish team eventually managed to not only catch up but suprass the Vacansan team. The first goal for Llort came quite later, at the 40th minute. The teams were still even by the end of the first half. Despite their effortless attempts, Vacansa did not manage to catch up with Llort managing to score two more goals by the end.
MATCH 78 Sincuerello (Ｊａｋｕｂ) vs. Levalle (𝐌𝐈𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐋) Next match was between Sincuerello (Group F winners) and Levalle (Group B third place). The match took place in Lillebøl's DIA Arena. It seemed like the 2018 hosts were up for a challenge coming up against Sincuerello who won all the matches in their respective group. And this was proven right, as Levalle left the match without any goals scored, while Sincuerello scored 2 goals against the Levallese team, one at the 12th minute already and one later at the 68th minute. Sincuerello will face Llort in the Round of 16.
MATCH 79 Decoria (Dimitris) vs. Drevona (Dominykas) Hosts and winners of Group D Decoria were up next playing against Drevona in Norfort's Norfort Globus. The Decorian team was predicted to win the match following their triumph in the group. However, to everyone's surprise the Drevonan team came on strong and managed to turn the game around. Despite neither teams scoring early in the game, the Drevonan team scored two goals. The score remained at 0–2 until halfway through the second half. Decoria finally managed to come back with a goal at the 68th minute, with Drevona scoring shortly after. Eventually, the Drevonan team defeated the hosts 1–4.
MATCH 80 Hwaesonna (Syr) vs.  De Vremdspongeln (Levi21) The last match of the day was between Hwaesonna and De Vremdspongeln, who played in Hasbjerg Stadion in Hasbjerg. With De Vremdspongeln also coming up against a group winner who won all their matches, they were coming in with a big challenge. Hwaesonna started off confidently with their first goal being scored at the 21st minute. During the first half, there were some close calls for goals on behalf of De Vremdspongeln, but eventually the team did not manage to score. The Hwaesonnan team kicked off the second half with another goal, while De Vremdspongeln was still struggling to score their first goal. At the end, Hwaesonna won the match with 3 scores against De Vremdspongeln. Hwaesonna will face Drevona in the Round of 16. |

Reaction of Prunian coach Noah Sierras« About the match itself, I feel like we played way too cautious and way too smug both at the same time, which was a weird and complete mistake. We managed to pass this time but there is still a lot of work to be done if we want to go even further.
Although penalties are partly a matter of luck, we were quite prepared for this kind of battle. Our five players to take the penalties were already chosen way before the match. I checked at the end of extra time if those players still wanted to take them, they did confirm and we then succeeded.
Now, we are already mentally preparing for the round of 16 match against Aquia, the reigning champions, which are as we all know a strong opponent if not the biggest. This will be a complete other step. » |

MATCH DAY 16 As the competition moves on to its 16th match day, we return for Lanovina.
MATCH 81 Lakadamia (Luiri) vs. Jarea (Matt) In today's first match, Group G's and H's runner-ups, Lakadamia and Jarea, played against each other. Many bookmakers predicted a close match between the two strong teams and indeed, the result was unclear for most of it. However, in the 115th minute Jarea managed to finally score the only goal of the match. Jarea therefore moves on to the Round of 16, while Lakadamia's team will start its long journey back home soon.
MATCH 82 Lanovina (Julian) vs. Zylofonija (basil) Today's host country (and the last remaining host country in the cup) Lanovina played against Group I's runner-up, Zylofonija. After unexpectedly winning Group G, many Lanovians were hopeful for this match, with many of them thinking that Zylofonija is a beatable opponent. Unfortunately, the hype did not result in a victory, as Zylofonija dominated the game and won with a clear 2-5 result. This means that all 4 host countries have now been eliminated.
MATCH 83 Lidonia (Matilda) vs.  Hansaaria (kacper) In today's third match, established team Lidonia met underdog Hansaaria. This match was predicted to be boring, as Lidonia won its group with small victories while Hansaaria only qualified as a third place for its surprise victory over Fordia. However, both teams proved the critics wrong and played one of the wildest games of the cup. Hansaaria managed to deliver another upset victory over a supposedly stronger opponent and will move on to the Round of 16
MATCH 84 Namimori (Kinoshita!) vs.  Freyhurt (ᴛᴏᴍ ᴋʟᴏsᴇʀ) Oh you thought one 4-6 was enough for today? Namimori and Freyhurt disagreed. And again, we are witnessing a shock victory. Freyhurst, qualifying as third place of Group K, won against Namimori, the most successful country of the entire group stage. Which proves again that your past track record doesn't matter, even underdog teams can win against the big favorites. Freyhurst will therefore move to the Round 16, Namimori's journey has come to an end. |
