A new era: Monaco confirms!
Monday, 31 August 2020 • 17:45 This afternoon, TMC, the Monégasque broadcaster, confirmed some shocking news for the microstate's participation in the North Vision Song Contest - Monaco will be present for edition 34, but with a brand new delegation team, 21 editions since the previous delegation team took over, as the esteemed old delegation moves onto new North Vision opportunities."We are incredibly grateful for everything our past team has done over the last 20 editions," a spokesperson for TMC announced this afternoon, "Under them we have seen incredible highs for our tiny country, we wish them the absolute best of luck in their new opportunities and we are sure that we will continue to see them prosper in their new environment."
Taking over the realms is a new delegation team fronted by Alexandre Herlemont, for which the spokesperson said, "We are so excited to see what the new team has to offer and we are confident that this is not the end of the Monégasque success in the contest - we will continue to provide original, creative and diverse entries edition after edition."
It has also been confirmed that, for this edition, the Monégasque entry will be decided internally, with an open call to artists in both France and Monaco being held. The open call will last for exactly 30 days, before a small jury within the delegation team will vote on a shortlisted variety of songs. This means that the entry is likely to be revealed in October.
Stay tuned for more information!Thank you Maaian for agreeing to swap with me! Oddly enough Monaco is one of the countries (if not THE country) I've wanted most in NVSC since I found out it existed and I'm really excited to get started I know some people will be like wtf at me trading Australia for Monaco but a slightly smaller country just feels like a better fit and I'm sure that Australia is in great hands! ICELAND CONFIRMS!31 August 2020 • Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland After a successful return to the grand final in Batumi, Georgia, where Blankiflur managed to bring Iceland back to the final with her song Runner Up, RÚV has officially confirmed that Iceland will participate in the 34th edition of North Vision Song Contest!
The news came as no shock given the extremely high interest in the Nordic country, even during editions where the country did not manage to advance to the final. One example of this would be the previous edition, where despite Elísabet failing to qualify with her song Sugar, the contest still had a 90% share on RÚV. With Blankiflur's success this edition, there are no signs of that decreasing anytime soon.
Speaking from Vestmannaeyjar today while on a socially distant and safe excursion, the head of delegation Dýri Brjánsson stated that: Obviously, all of us are so proud of Blankiflur and we wish her the best as she represents us in Batumi. The odds are looking quite good for Blankiflur, however regardless of those we will be proud of her no matter the result - she already made us proud by returning to the final, which was our ultimate goal in the first place.
Despite confirming, no information on the selection process has been given just yet. However, given the interest rates for the current format of Ferðin til... and it's somewhat impressive results, the broadcaster may opt to use it once again. Submissions are currently open, and Icelandic artists or those with a strong connection to the country can now submit songs to RÚV. The selection process is expected to be revealed after the results of the 33rd edition. Stay tuned for more news!

Important news comes from Paris.
Changes are coming in the french delegation, which is responsible for the country's participation in the competition.
The main news was the resignation of the head of the delegation and his team. The national broadcaster draws attention to the fact that this decision was mutual and both sides took it seriously and consciously. The broadcaster and the head of delegation have no claims against each other.
The mandate of the current team expires at the time of publication. The appointment of a new HoD will be announced separately. The real reason is much simpler: I'm tired. 30+ editions in which I participated, 2 countries and several different national selections. I understand that I do not have enough time now, sometimes I do not have enough time to vote. It became difficult for me to make a choice of a song, it was painful to see how the country fell in the rating. Thank you very much for this incredible adventure, it gave me a lot of experience, introduced me to many new singers, incredible tracks. I will definitely keep an eye on all upcoming editions. I wish good luck to all the participants, as well as to the new head of the delegation, who will make itself felt very soon Not saying goodbye!

France will be present in the 34th edition! Monday, 7 September 2020 • 12:30
Paris, France France Télévisions has officially confirmed the French participation for the upcoming 34th edition, despite raging rumours about a possible withdrawal due to internal changes within the broadcaster. The new Head of Delegation Jean Richard commented on the way of selecting the entry for the upcoming contest. Despite the confirmation, the selection method is still unknown. The broadcaster has not come up with the final decision and will probably await the results of the 33rd edition of the contest.
Louane LIVE in Batumi, Georgia. France Télévisions and it's Head of Delegation commented on the matter:
"The possibility of the country having to go through a pre-qualification round is really what is keeping us from going full out. We are waiting for either a confirmation of the results or a French masterpiece to make an appearance. What ever it might turn out to be, we'll make sure to keep national and international fans up to date. France is back, better than ever before."

I want to thank Dmitry for allowing me to get to be the Head of Delegation of France. We had been talking since March and when you told me you were going to give France to me I lost it. It means the world to me that I can work with a music industry that is very compatible with my very own music tastes. Thank you for the opportunity Also babes Spain will also await a new chosen Head of Delegation.

SPAIN CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION IN THE 34TH EDITION!7 September 2020 • Madrid, Spain While the nation's result in the ongoing edition is still not known, Spain has unveiled its plans for the upcoming edition.SPAIN WELCOMES ITS NEW DELEGATION TEAM! This afternoon, RTVE have confirmed that Spain will be present in the North Vision Song Contest 34, under brand new management. The brand new delegation will be managed by experienced NVSC professionals Alejandro Sánchez and Oscar Torres, who are said to be "looking forward" to this new challenge. The duo will be looking to emulate the success of the past Spanish delegations, who have a strong and proud history in the history of the contest."I'm so excited to be the new delegation of Spain. I feel like this country has a lot of potential to achieve extraordinary results in the biggest music competition in Europe.
Yes, we will have to face some challenges, but I'm sure that with extra effort and enthusiasm they'll be easy to overcome. We have already commenced our search for fresh acts all across Spain, and we're hopeful that we have so many new homegrown talent that are just waiting to be exposed to the world. Again, I can't express how happy I am right now, let's go for gold!"– The Newly Appointed Spanish Head of Delegation, Alejandro Sánchez FESTIVAL IBÉRICO TO CONTINUE! After the new delegation reveal, speculations started to arise regarding the possible cancellation of the successful Festival Ibérico. The national selection, hosted by both Spain and Portugal, helped choose the entries of the two nations since the 31st edition of the North Vision Song Contest.
Although, these rumours were denied by Alejandro Sánchez, meaning that the selection will continue to select two entries for the Iberian countries. If the selection will stay for a long time though, is yet to be determined. An insider revealed that a renewed selection format for Spain is currently being discussed.
Stay tuned for more information regarding the entries! (The fate of Montenegro is undecided)

Hey, just noticed the trades now. I don't wanna fight with nobody or make any drama, I just want to express my feelings over something, some HoD's might feel the same, or maybe I'm alone at this. I really appreciate the NBU and their hard and fantastic work, I'm grateful for every edition I have participated and for any future edition I will take part in. But I have to say all this country trading without draws thing feels a bit unfair for simple (non-NBU) HoD's with the "non-strong" NVSC countries who want to change their countries after some (or many) editions. It's more than obvious that the NBU will know about withdrawals of some HoD's before the rest of the participants, and it gives them the advantage to take it first without a draw. I know that I can to do the same when another HoD withdraws, but I'm not really able to know when it happens unlike the NBU or friends of the HoD who tells them he's about to withdraw. I would like to suggest to re-consider this trading rule, cause it feels unfair for the HoD's who are not able to know which HoD withdraws and when. To be clear, I have really enjoyed my 7 editions with Slovakia and I will be more than happy to continue participating with it for more editions, but tbh I would've loved to at least be able to contend for France this edition or UK when Kevin got it, but didn't even get the opportunity to have a chance to get them because I didn't know that some HoD is withdrawing at the right time. Again, I don't want to cause any drama or to underestimate NBU's investment in the contest, but it feels like the first one to know things (which is 99% the NBU) will get the better country without consideration of the amount of editions of a HoD with a certain country, and without a fair draw. Love you all pls don't make it a drama, just expressed my feelings
