  Germany CONFIRMS its participation!Cologne, 15th September: The broadcaster responsible for Germany's NVSC participation, WDR, has confirmed that the country will take part in the 34th edition, held in  Slovakia.  Germany will return to the semi-finals, after being automatically qualified for the final last edition. The broadcaster also announced that the national selection, Unser Song für NVSC, will be held again. In response to a reporter's question, the HoD mentioned that the plans for the selection are being developed and discussed right now and that the amount of participants might change. However, this is not officially decided as of now, just one possible outcome of the planning sessions. Recently, there have been rumours about the possible participants going around. Anonymous sources claim that famous German rapper Juju and German rock band Giant Rooks, who participated in USF33, were both invited to take part but declined the invitation. On the other hand, one rumour claims that a known German YouTuber was asked to take part and accepted the invitation. This source does not mention a name though, leaving many fans skeptical. |

The previous broadcaster station NTK decided to withdraw from all of the NVSC related events. Following this announcement a new broadcaster took the responsability. Welcome... GAKKU TV.
GAKKU TV has just confirmed Kazakhstan's participation in the upcoming 34th North Vision Song Contest via an online press conference with NVSC news portal nvsckazakhstan.gakku.kz.
Despite calls on a withdrawal by some local fans after yet another underwhelming result and the broadcaster change, the country's Head of Delegation Ivo Maskunyanov has stated in the conference that a withdrawal has never been considered."Clearly we're very disappointed with our result last edition because we really thought we could finally make it, but, it the end, we didn't. Following the broadcaster swap Kazakhstan is ready to introduce a lot of changes."
"Although we now have to go through the first hurdle which is the pre-qualification round, we'll still try our best on going as far as possible. Therefore, in a change from recent editions, Äwenfestïvali will be taking a break and we'll select our next entrant internally."

 ANNOUNCEMENT16 September 2020 • Casablanca, Morocco  2M TV officially announces that Morocco will not take part to this edition. Ukraine didn't do well in Georgia... or better said, in the 33rd edition of the North Vision Song Contest overall, as Ukraine was never part of the official semifinals in Georgia. Maruv and Boosin couldn't compete with the line-up in the Pre-Qualification Round and placed 6th out of 10 songs, from which only 3 got the ticket to the semifinals. The shock was enormous among the Ukrainian viewers, and therefore hopes are high for an other strategy with regard to the selection method.
The NVSC delegation observed the edition in Georgia and came to the decision that obviously Ukraine will again try to fight for a good placement and to stand out of the other competing entries. As far as the selection method is concerned, the Ukrainian HoD made some plans already for another edition of PNV, but with a specific system of song choices. Therefore, the lineup will most likely consist of 10 songs (as always), but 5 of them will be returnees (either Ukrainian representatives from the contest itself or participants from former PNV editions) and 5 others will be complete newcomers (never having participated in PNV, let alone NVSC).
Ukraine is already searching for a line-up never been seen before, but the application phase is still open for interested Ukrainian musicians and artists. However international broadcasters also can express their ideas, the HoD would love to hear some suggestions from outside of Ukraine!

 Serbia confirms participation in North Vision Song Contest #34
Despite finishing 17th in the semi-finals and landing in the PQR again, RTS has announced that Serbia will participate in North Vision Song Contest #34.
Another edition of BMGP will be held, with 10 songs competing to participate. In the future we hope to experiment with different voting systems, but for this edition only HoDs/co-HoDs of participating countries will be allowed to vote. This is being done in an attempt to curb 'fluke results'.
So far 73 entries have been submitted to RTS, and we hope to see many more. |
