Liège, 1 October 2020
Belgium's participation in the thirty-fourth North Vision Song Contest has just been officially confirmed. Last edition, the country was one of six countries that automatically qualified for the final without having to go through a semi-final process, owing to the spectacular performance of Joane in Luxembourg City. Lea Rue won the second edition of the newly established selection format BELfestival and was given the opportunity to wave her homeland's flag in Batumi. She finished in seventh place, barely missing out on delivering another automatic qualification for the Western-European country. This result marked the first time when Belgium secured two top 10 positions in a row, exceeding everyone's expectations.
The implemented changes and a different selection method reversed a downturn in Belgium's fortunes at the contest in recent editions. Therefore, the Flemish and Walloon broadcasters agreed on continuing their cooperation without a second thought. This means that the Belgian representative will be selected via BELfestival format once again. Belgium will go through a highly competitive process to select their entry, attracting many leading performers in the process. However, slight changes have been made to the selection format. The candidate songs will be evaluated by the jury panel comprising local music experts, including producers, industry professionals, and journalists. Based on this, the jury will select an estimated 20 acts for the national final to be broadcast in October. The songs will then be paired up to fight a duel. The winner of each duel will proceed to the final round of the selection where the winner will be decided.
 Belfestival is one of our biggest brands and we can't allow the public to go on another edition without it. We wanted to continue with what has proved to be a successful formula at first but going for a completely different approach will allow more of our talented musicians to have that opportunity of performing in such a marvellous event! 
More information and details regarding the Belgian national selection are expected to be released in due course.

  Moscow, after quit a disappointing result in last edition, we can confirm that we still have no intention to withdraw anytime soon. Meaning  Russia will be present in the Pre-Qualification Round of the next edition which will be held in  Slovakia. We opened our search for our next representative, but can confirm there is no conversations yet. The entry will be selected by internal selection and more information will come when it's there. But for now we can confirm we will be part of the upcoming edition. See you in Slovakia! |

 HRT has confirmed that Croatia will withdraw from the upcoming edition in order to reorganize and analyze the current position of Croatia in NVSC. |

 SVERIGE CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION!SVT has just confirmed  Sweden's presence at the 34th edition, that will be held in Slovakia. FANTASIFESTIVALEN TO BE HELD!  Fantasifestivalen 34 will be held in order to select the next Swedish entrant. Once again an amount of 32 songs will compete in the selection. The Head of Delegation, Jan Björkman, said: "There were never any doubts about SVT's persistent attendance in the competition. The viewing figures for the Fantasifestivalen and the North Vision shows are clearly indicating a small increase again and we hope to reach a new peak in the near future. A total of 2,214 songs have been submitted for this edition's Fantasifestivalen show, from which 32 songs were chosen by a professional jury to compete. More details will be revealed soon." |

 Australia confirms participation under new management.Earlier today, October 8, SBS officials have confirmed that Australia will be present in the 34th edition of North Vision Song Contest! This will be under a new HoD who will debut in the coming edition.
SBS is ready to reveal its song and singer...
 Australia will be represented by Rufus Du Sol! 1:15

 NORWAY CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION! Oslo, Norway • 9 October 2020 NRK announced in a press conference last evening that Norway will take part in the next Northvision edition after the amazing 2nd place achieved by Ruben in  Batumi. The country will be part of the Big 6 for the fourth time in six editions and Den Norsken Sangen will be hosted once again to determine the Norwegian entry.DEN NORSKEN SANGEN 31 ""Submissions have already opened and we can't wait to showcase more Norwegian talent. ALGERIA CONFIRMS FOR NVSC #34
ENTV can confirm that Algeria will be present for the thirty-fourth edition of the contest following Mauvais Oeil's top 5 finish in Tbilisi with "Mektoub". The fantastic result means Algeria will automatically be in the Grand Final of the upcoming edition. The result means Algeria now has its longest streak of consecutive appears in the final since its debut.
ENTV have confirmed the song will be selected internally with artists invited to submit songs through the open competition.

Luxembourg confirms its participation in Slovakia! Last edition, Bolshiee defied all odds to place eighth in the Grand Final, which was preceded by a string of successful results. This made RTL's decision to continue participating at the North Vision Song Contest a nonstarter.
Although "Maniac" is a tough act to follow, RTL promises something.
