Marie-Mai to return to the Northvision stage!

After last night's spectacular show France Télévisions can officially confirm that the Canadian Marie-Mai will represent France in the upcoming North Vision Song Contest held in Slovakia!

Last night's show ended up being more excited than expected. Marie-Mai and the French-Brazilian-Portuguese Bianca Costa were the frontrunners from the very beginning ending up both with 22 points in the end. The system used to break the tie was to follow the jury results which revealed that Marie-Mai ended up receiving 233 points with 6 sets of 12 points from the Faroese, Kazakh, Moldovan, Norwegian, Slovak and Swedish jury members while the runner-up received one point less, the total being 232 points. Marie-Mai will sing "Exister" (To exist). This marks the 3rd time she will shine bright on the European platform, after previously participating in the 4th (solo) and 9th edition (with Jonas).

France Télévisions held a press conference for the French representative right after the show, where press and fans could ask questions to the French Head of Delegation and the artist he is taking along to Slovakia. Right before the actual press conference Marie-Mai gave the following statement:

"France THANK YOU, thank you for another opportunity to make you proud. I am going to try my best to do so!"

Faroese Head of Delegation will receive a 30% percentage increase for the revelation of a non-approved entry.

The required amount of approvals has been reached in the meantime, therefore the song will now be considered valid.

It's BARON.E for Switzerland!

SRG:SSR is proud to reveal that electronic music duo BARON.E will attempt to represent

Switzerland in the upcoming edition of the North Vision Song Contest, to be held in

Slovakia, providing they manage to qualify from the pre-qualification round first.

BARON.E is composed of Faustine Pochon and Arnaud Rolle, who are both from Fribourg in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. The duo was formed in 2019 and they have cited their influence from all forms of rock music as well as contemporary French music. The duo blends indie pop and electropop genres in their music and predominantly performs in French. After their single Un verre d’ego was listed in the best songs of 2019 by Les Inrocks, BARON.E started to receive international attention.
Their first EP, Jeunesse Dorée, was released on 13 March 2020.
In March 2020 the duo performed on an American tour, including at the 2020 Francophonie Cultural Festival in Washington, D.C. They were also set to perform at the Atlanta Francophonie Festival on 25 March 2020, but the performance was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
