Well the last available countries debuted in the third edition already, so ofc we allowed Réunion debut now. We agreed that it’s the only territory allowed to take part for now, unless someone is really interested in Saint Helena or Mayotte for example. About who showed interest first, I really don’t know as I am not the host of the contest, but does it really matter now? The troll entry got 5th, does that mean that every country who finished below it should withdraw? And imo you did pretty decent in the previous edition. But I respect your decision of course, so no hard feelings. Best of luck and thanks for taking part and for the banger that you sent last edition! The answer you gave back in April 2020 was slightly different - you said that dependent territories would be available "once all the current available countries (or almost all) will be taken and new users will want to join." This is not the current situation since there are more free countries than people who would like to join. But as you said, it doesn't matter anymore. I also think I won't have too bad memories of the contest if I withdraw after I finally reached the final. At least it will be better than in OESC where I left with no final at all in several years. There is also the fact that Africa has never been a prioritary continent to me - the only African country I took in a worldwide contest was Mauritius in SVSC.

Going international again العودة الدولية مرة أخرى Tripoli, 5 January 2021
It was just confirmed yesterday that Libya will be taking part in the fifth Own Africavision Song Contest in South Africa. Following reports and rumors that an established artist from the diaspora community had accepted the offer to become the next representative, broadcaster LRT has today revealed the mysterious act during the morning news broadcast Good Day Libya, revealing that the rumors have turned out to be, indeed, true that Libya is once again opting for the international route. Without further ado, please welcome...
Labinot Gashi (GASHI) is an independent American rapper born in Libya and of Albanian ethnicity. His family were war refugees from Kosovo who had to flee to Libya and then Europe before immigrating to Brooklyn in the late 90s. Being the winner of "First Time Performances" of First Look Sessions in both 2010 and 2011. His debut project in 2011, Last of a Rare Breed, featured tracks with Nipsey Hussle and French Montana. 2012 was a breakthrough year for Gashi which he founded his own group called Moxy and released the hit "Rocket". Future tracks, which included "Who Made Me" and "Laughing", were featured on Hot 97 after co-signing with Peter Rosenberg. His song "Disrespectful" in 2017 was also featured in episode 4 of Showtime's The Chi. The self-titled LP, comprising of 16 songs, was released in 2019. In addition to music, Gashi also attracted the attention of fashion and clothing businesses. As of 2012 Gashi is the face and the representative of "Problem Child NYC" clothing line and did modelling for the Problem Child line in New York. With an already successful musical career, Gashi sees his participation in the recently established Own Africavision Song Contest, representing his birthplace Libya, as an opportunity for him to promote his music and discography to an even larger audience. Being able to select an act of such high calibre, the artist and the delegation team is ready to give their all to bring Libya and the whole Northern Africa their long-awaited victory. Alongside the confirmation of GASHI as the Libyan representative, it was revealed that his contest song will be selected through a national selection. Iihya will be making a comeback after a one-edition's absence, with the artist presenting a total of three songs. The public will have the final say on the song GASHI will bring to South Africa. withdraw... confirms!
I'm sorry, but I don't have much time right now to search, as well as to correspond, "asking for permission" for artists from other countries... I have participated several times in various contests with artists from Benin (although the Jazz Fest is not a very good example here ) and am more or less familiar with this music. However, my taste is unlikely to change, as well as the results, but I will try.
