Denmark confirms participation – will DMGP return again? Copenhagen, Denmark • 8 February 2022
It's official! The Danish broadcaster has confirmed that Denmark will indeed be making its appearance in the 38th edition of the contest. Despite the rumours wanting the country taking a break from the contest, DR has confirmed that the country will be competing in the upcoming contest set to take place in the United Kingdom. Internal selection or DMGP? The broadcaster might have confirmed the country's participation for the forthcoming edition but they are yet to disclose any further information regarding their selection process. Last edition, it was reported that it might be a while before Dansk Melodi Grand Prix made a return to our screens. However, there are signs pointing towards the selection's return, once again. After taking multiple breaks over the course of the last editions of the contest, it is possible that the selection will be back once again to select the Danish entry. It is unknown when the broadcaster will be unveiling their plans for their selection process this edition. However, sources want the Danish entry being revealed very late once again, whether that is selected through an internal or a national selection.

TURKEY CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION IN THE NEXT PQR This evening, the Turkish broadcaster TRT has officially confirmed the presence of the country in the next Pre-Qualification Round. Despite an unsuccessful set of attempts to qualify for the Grand Final, the country’s interest in the contest has not decreased which made the possibility of a withdrawal not to be minimally considered.
Several artists from across the nation and beyond submitted a song to the broadcaster wishing to represent Turkey at the next PQR and hopefully at the North Vision Song Contest #38 in the United Kingdom. The next representative has already been chosen by an internal jury.
The turkish entry will soon be revealed, stay tuned!

A CHAPTER IS OVER After narrowly escaping the bottom 5 in the semi-final, Ireland's intention to compete in the upcoming edition was uncertain. Earlier today a meeting was held at the RTÉ headquarters to make a decision regarding country's faith, however it didn't go as planned. The head of delegation, which was in charge of country's participation for 12 editions, during 3 years and half, had decided to quit their position. In an interview, he stated that there's always time for something new, hence why he accepted a new challenge.
"I've had a great time being responsible for this country's run in the competition. I had my ups and downs, but I don't regret a single moment from this journey. My most notable achievement was the victory from the 28th edition with a points record, yet to be broken. I'm also glad that I managed to keep the 100% qualification rate from PQR. Even though the general run wasn't as great, bringing the country in the final only 6 times, and generally placing outside the top 20, I'm still glad that I had the opportunity to dig into this country's music scene. However, it's with deep regret that I'm announcing my departure as HoD of Ireland, to pursue a new challenge, which you'll find out soon. I just felt the need for this change as I started to experience some pressure lately, when it came to finding a suitable song, artist, and the overall reactions about the choices that I with my team were making. I hope that my successor will have a great time too and do an even better job than I did. "
With that being said, a new head of delegation has been appointed and will be revealed very soon.
A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS Romania confirms their participation in the upcoming edition of North Vision Song Contest under a new head of delegation. After previous being responsible for Ireland's participation in the contest, the new head of delegation has just arrived in Romania and is ready for a new challenge.
Following a streak of good results in the contest, being in the final every edition since #32, with 2 automatic qualifications, the new head of delegation stated that they feel a bit of pressure but will do their best to deliver and continue the streak. The selection method has not been decided yet, but more news regarding Romania's journey in North Vision Song Contest #38 will follow in due time.
