 NORWAY CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION! Oslo, Norway • 14 January 2023 After a lot of speculations about a possible withdrawal after the country reached its worst placement in the long history of the contest, NRK announced in a press conference this evening that  Norway will still take part as the contest celebrates its 40th jubilee edition. The country will possibly have to go through the Pre-Qualification-Round for the first time and an internal selection will take place for the first time after 36 editions, marching the indefinite hiatus of the longest-running Northvision national selection Den Norsken Sangen.

  THE RETURN OF AN NVSC LEGEND The broadcaster has decided that they will internally select an artist and have them represent the country in the next edition.Just to keep the tension and interest high any information about the Artist and the Song itself will be a secret for the time being. Only thing we confirm is that we have an Artist who has already participated before.

NORTH MACEDONIA CONFIRMS! 14th January 2023 • Skopje, North Macedonia Earlier This Morning, the  North Macedonian Delegation team discussed their future in the Northvision Song Contest. Following the non-qualification from the Semi-Final, All members expressed their interest to Continue Participation at the Worldwide Contest.
"The Desire and Interest of the contest is still very lively in the North Macedonian Public. We are we will keep trying until we become more successful.More Informationon that will be revealed soon!" Comment from the North Macedonian HoD - Josh The selection method is currently being finalised and this edition there are hints that the Delegation are going a different route this edition. The Delegation will be ready to explain it to everyone very soon!!

 Lebanon confirms for NVSC #40!  LBC has confirmed the presence of Lebanon at the fortieth edition of the North Vision Song Contest. This is in spite of having to compete in the pre-qualification round – the second time in the space of just four editions – to earn a place at the contest in  Greece.
After an edition of absence and a return to the drawing board for mahrajan al'aghnia failed to translate into any meaningful improvement on the scoreboard, local media has speculated that there have been calls from within LBC for the Head of Delegation to step down. However, at least for the time being, the delegation appears to playing down such speculation and keeping 'business as usual' on its agenda.
« Whilst of course we are incredibly proud of Zef's performance on the Soldeu ski slope, unfortunately it didn't resonate as much with the international NVSC audience as it did with the professional juries. Choosing a song that will appeal to voters isn't always straightforward, and clearly we're still learning. »
Due both to time constraints imposed by the PQR timescales and to reduced interest from potential artists, it has been announced that Lebanon will be selecting its entry for the fortieth edition internally. A shortlist of artists has been compiled, and the chosen entry will be submitted and revealed following consultation with a small number of other delegations.
« Starting the jubilee edition of NVSC from the PQR isn't where we'd like to be, but even so we wouldn't miss it for anything. We're looking to bring something different to celebrate forty editions of North Vision – whether that be a change of pace, a change of genre, a change of language, watch this space! »
Lebanon's NVSC journey made the best possible start as Nicole Saba won for the country on its debut in the fifth edition with 'Hafdal Ahlam', bringing the contest to Beirut for the sixth edition and starting a (to this day unmatched) three-edition qualification streak. The country's results from then on were rather turbulent, including two four-edition streaks of non-qualifications, although Myriam Fares achieved Lebanon's second best result with 'Nifsi Aoulhalak' in the fourteenth edition: second place.
A new delegation stepped in for the twenty-fourth edition, bringing Lebanon back to the final with Nelly Makdessy's 'Kunt Atmanna' in Vienna, and achieving three top ten results for the country (with 'Call Me a Stranger', '22' and 'Dear Jealousy') before passing the baton on to the current delegation team for the thirty-fourth edition onwards, returning to the final – and to the top ten – with Azure Ryder's 'Stronger'.

 Morocco confirms their participation; internal selection to be held. After weeks of fandom speculation -2MTV has announced they will compete and that they will use internal Selection to decide Morocco's 36th Northvision participant. A spokesperson from 2MTV released a statement today saying: "We are thrilled to confirm that Morocco will once again compete in the 40th Northvision Song Contest next edition, despite another unsuccessful result for the country in Ventspils, where La Bronze represented the nation with the song "Sois Ferme" and failed to qualify to the semifinals in Andorra. Over the past few months, we have been exploring ways we could deliver the event to Moroccan audiences next editions however, a variety of factors contributed to us sticking with the internal selection process. We are proud to continue to be the home of the Northvision Song Contest and we look forward to celebrating 20 editions of broadcasting Northvision in the upcoming edition." As soon as there is more news on Morocco's selection of the artist and song for Northvision 40 we will bring you all details.

 SLOVAKIA CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION IN NORTHVISION SONG CONTEST #40
RTVS, National broadcaster of Slovakia in NVSC, has revealed that Slovakia is indeed planning to appear in Greece 40th jubilee edition of Northvision Song Contest after breaking a non-qualification streak with Adonxs last edition getting a left side 12th place in the Grand Final.
RTVS decided to go with a NATIONAL SELECTION. The nation of Selection will be "
Slovensko: Vy rozhodujete". It will consist of 8 individual songs that haven't been even decided yet. Frankly we are opening the submission process in this moment and it will last till 31st February 2023. Hopefully this format will make us get another final placement since we have been missing them lately.

• Surprise! Latvia confirms. •
Following an expected but disappointing 19th place in the semi-final,  Latvia has to pass through the PQR for the 40th edition. Therefore, the delegation has confirmed that an Internal Selection will be held for selecting the next Latvian entry in the contest.
