Serbia confirms participation in North Vision Song Contest #41
Serbia will participate in North Vision Song Contest #41 after equalling their record of four consecutive qualifications. With a bit of luck and your support, we hope to make it 5.
Another edition of BMGP will be held. The format is still under discussion within the broadcaster.
Suggestions are more than welcome. Even though most of them are songs we would have found anyway, it still has a huge influence on who gets in.

България избра?
BULGARIA WILL NOT BE PRESENT
SOFIA, 18/5/2023 -- Citing low viewing figures and lack of interest within the Bulgarian music industry, Bulgaria has elected not to participate in NVSC 41 and take a one-edition break.
In a statement from BNT: "Much like we did four years ago, we need to take an edition away from the contest to revitalize how we support Bulgarian artists internally when they perform at NVSC. We continue to value artists as best as we can, but as of late there has been a lack of conditions met between artist and delegation. We also need to figure out how to better engage a population with diverging musical interests."
I am going to take an edition off because I will be preparing to move cross-country this summer. (And this is the USA - cross country is like 3000 kilometers... and I have a lot of stuff ) I won't have the time to give this contest the attention it needs, especially with 4 or 5-day deadlines there could be a week where I'm unable to check the forum or Discord. I also want to review during this time off whether I will continue to participate as HoD or pass it on. We will see; the 10th anniversary of NVSC's creation is coming up; that's a pretty cool milestone imo. For now, thanks for your understanding and patience ^V^

Willkommen in Österreich! Austria confirms participation & accepts host country role; national selection to be held. After being granted the permit and responsibility to carry out as expected, ORF has announced that Austria will be the host country of the 41st North Vision Song Contest, subsequently confirming its participation in the same edition. The country previously managed to secure their second victory, and first win overall by the current delegation, with YUKNO's "Böse Geister" winning ahead of the Belgian and Lithuanian entries, who rounded up the top three. All further announcements regarding the planning and execution of the edition are prone to be revealed by the coordinated effort of the NBU and ORF. A journalist who raised the question whether Graz would be chosen internally as the host city, after rumoured gossip of the Head of Delegation spread right after the airing of the results, was promptly shut down in typical Austrian fashion of denial. Besides this announcement, it was also revealed that Austria will select its entry through public national voting after a one-edition break, which means that 'Der fünfte Kaiserschmarrn' will be held in advance of the online song contest. The Head of Delegation noted a change in format, specifying that the acts will no longer be picked on a strict male-diverse-female ratio, which has been in place since the first edition of the national selection. While the country still enforces a balance between the genders, the limitations this rule brought upon the musical diversity have led to this decision. Nonetheless, ORF whole-heartedly welcomes all varieties of genders and musical backgrounds, with a focus on non-mainstream songs. Submissions for artists and entries have opened and will close at a later date. ORF favours in its search for the upcoming entry to be a soloist of indie/alternative background, after the last artist was a male duo. It has also been stated in a press release that after two Styrian-origin entries in a row, there's an expressed wish for more diversity in the regional background of the country, regardless of the chosen host city.
Am 19. Mai 2023 in Graz veröffentlicht. Alle Rechte gehen an ORF und NBU.
