RTL renews participation of Luxembourg at NVSC
RTL announced today that they had renewed the participation of Luxembourg at the North Vision Song Contest, therefore confirming a continued presence in the twenty-ninth edition of the contest.With contest viewership numbers taking a dive, it is uncertain if sponsors will choose to renew a contract to fundWéi Eng?. However, it is expected that an announcement will be made by the sponsorship deadline. |

 Kælan Mikla will represent Iceland!
RÚV has made a surprising announcement today, and that is that the Icelandic act has already been chosen. After many submissions from artists across the country, the Icelandic broadcaster decided to choose Kælan Mikla as their representatives in the upcoming edition of the contest.
Kælan Mikla (eng: The Lady of the Cold) are a synth-punk trio from Reykjavík, consisting of Sólveig Matthildur, Margrét Rósa and Laufey Soffía. The band was formed in 2013 after winning 1st place in a poetry slam held by the Reykjavík City Library, and eventually went on to perform in music festivals across the country, and release 3 albums. The name of the group was originally as a joke as Margrét describes, but it soon stuck; in an interview with The Reykjavik Grapevine, she described Kælan Mikla:
"If you look into her eyes, you freeze. She is this super feminine cold, kind of evil, mystical power. We always say that when the three of us are together, we create Kælan Mikla as a character.”
This is not the first time that the group has tried to represent Iceland. They tried to represent the country in North Vision Song Contest 25, but failed to advance to the final of the national selection with their song Kalt. Although disappointed, singer Sólveig Matthildur spoke on behalf of the group stating that their journey to try represent Iceland wasn't over, and that they would definitely try again in the future.
Speaking on RÚV today, Sólveig stated that:
We are so happy to be the Icelandic representatives in the upcoming edition! We've already submitted our song to RÚV and it will be revealed in August. I said that when we lost in #25, I still had hope that we would represent Iceland in the North Vision Song Contest, and our dream came true. We really hope you enjoy our song when it is released!
Although Kælan Mikla is representing Iceland for sure, the entry is not going to be revealed until mid/late August 2019. The broadcaster has went through songs from their 3 albums and picked the one they felt was the best.

 Spain is not going to be present in the upcoming edition.
It has been confirmed by TVE that Spain is not going to be present in the upcoming edition of North Vision Song Contest. Spain is not participating in the current edition in Bern, Switzerland due to financial difficulties. The broadcaster also has to pay debts to the NBU which prevents Spain from participating in the North Vision.

 Finland confirms their participation!
YLE announced on their website after the results of the North Vision Song Contest #28 that  Finland will participate in the forthcoming edition. Most of the Finnish people have been furious for YLE due to the poor result and have demanded the HoD to resign from the post. The HoD told to journalists that he is not going to leave his post at the near future. The next Finnish entrant will be selected by an internal selection. At the moment it is speculated that the next Finnish representative will be either Johanna Kurkela, New Ro, Maustetytöt, Portion Boys or Eva + Manu but none of them have been confirmed by reliable sources. It is very likely that YLE will announce the entry during July. |

 San Marino confirms participation!
San Marino RTV CONFIRMS participation in NVSC #29.
After the 2nd place and the podium reached with Toukassé, the joy is immense and the Sammarinese HoD can only confirm the presence of the small country in the next edition in  Ireland, for the second time in history automatically in the final show. This will not be a reason for little commitment for the country, which will however try to get a good result with a good option.

  Czech Republic will return to the NorthVision Song Contest!
Shortly after the announcement of the Final results of the 28th edition, the Czech broadcaster Česká Televize published the viewing figures for the contest, and Czech fans and local press were positively surprised to see them, as the interest for the contest only increased in the country due to the sudden withdrawal and the support from Czech talents.
The news generated a huge media buzz, and Head of Delegation Julius Horváth called for an urgent meeting to discuss the aftermath of the situation. A decision was made briefly and almost unanimously, and in a press conference the Head of Delegation stated the following:
The announcement was well received by the media and some names have immediately popped up as potential candidates, but nothing has been confirmed so far.

The  Czech delegation is looking for a new co-HoD, who could help us with the organization of the selecting process. If you'd like to take part in NVSC as the Czech co-HoD, apply via forum or Facebook message. If you have some experience already with this country in any contests, don't forget to inform me about it, because that would help me tremendously.

Äwenfestïvali returns
Astana,  Kazakhstan. 6th July 2019.
Today the Kazah HoD confirmed via an interview with kazakhstan.nvsc.kz the return of Äwenfestïvali, this will be the 10th edition of the show. The NF will feature 9 songs + 1 foreign act.
Some songs will be internally selected while others will be selected via the ones suggested by the NVSC fans, which you can suggest here.
Co-Hod 3 days ago it was published Kazakhstan is looking for a Co-Hod. You can find all the information here.
